YOUR CONSCIOUS - SELF IMPROVEMENT - We are all human. Humans make mistakes. Thus, everyone makes mistakes. However, did you stop to realize that just one mistake can blind you to every good thing that someone else has ever done? Just one mistake! Holy Writ, aka the Holy Bible, tell us that even Jesus ignored all the good things the rich young ruler had done just to magnify a single flaw. Why? Because a single mistake can destroy all the benefits that “good” had already accomplished.

Yes, everyone falls short. However, it’s the Great Ones that get back up. People often destroy themselves, their future and fall apart. They do idiotic things and make ridiculous decisions. Why? Often times, in fact the majority of time it’s because that person did not get any counsel before making a decision. Holy Writ, aka Holy Bible, tell us: “Where there is no counsel the people fall.” (Prov. 11:14)

There are other ways people can destroy themselves. In our quest for personal motivation or self improvement, let’s look at a few:

* People are unwilling to admit a mistake. People are so filled with pride they won’t admit they did something stupid. Non Catholics scoff at Catholics because they believe in confessing their short comings or their sins. In reality, the power of confession is amazing. Holy Writ, aka the Holy Bible, tells how confession moved a man named Zaccheus from a ‘nobody’ to a ‘disciple of Jesus’ . . .all in just a few minutes!

* How many parents do you know that permit their children to show disrespect to others? Who openly laugh at their parents feeble attempts to get their attention? Who are a terror to other shoppers when taken to the supermarket? Even some of the best of “Christian” parents are guilty! You can’t compel your children to follow God, but you have every right to command them to follow YOU. Following God become their choice. There should be NO choice when it comes to following what YOU say! Set down guidelines for your children to follow and compel them to be followed. In Holy Writ, aka the Holy Bible, talks about this in Genesis 18:19 where it says, “I have chosen him in order that he may command his sons and his descendants to obey me and to do what is right and just. If they do I will do everything for him that I have promised.” This is a conversation that God has with Abraham. In that God is no respecter of persons, it is applicable to EVERYONE! Hmmmm! Perhaps there was a massive misprint at the publishing company and that specific Scripture was accidentally omitted.

Without question, if some parents would learn allow this very simple, basic scripture to be a guideline in their lives there would be no need for a “nanny” to come into your home and show you the very basics of child discipline, all the while rendering the parents to utter disgrace before millions of TV viewers!

* Many of today’s “Christians,” trivialize the importance of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives. They seem to try with their “minds” to do what can ONLY be done, by GOD, via their heart, with the help of the Spirit of Holiness. There is a big difference between the Spirit-Life and the Mind-Life. To live a “prayerless” life is to nothing short of Arrogance!

* People are unfaithful to the House of the Lord, the Church, saying, “I can serve God at home.” However, their attitude about life reveals they haven’t been serving Him at home. Holy Writ, aka The Holy Bible, in Hebrews 10:25 says, “Do not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.” However, when it comes to attending the House of the Lord, or Church, don’t choose just ‘any’ for the sake of being able to be able to say, “I went to Church.” A House of the Lord, or House of Worship, or Church, should be a place where the Spirit of Holiness is allowed FULL operation.

* People often go to a church simply because it’s “nearby” their home. Even if it means driving a few miles it is very important to choose a church where God’s Holy ANOINTING is allowed to operate. Choose a church where Praise and Worship is directed by the moving of the Holy Spirit, and not by the person in charge saying, “let’s turn our hymn books to page 955 and sing . . . . ” The same old dead, dry song that is sung everytime the church doors open. God’s musical creativity is not allowed in some churches: “The beat’s gotta GO!” Meanwhile, the younger generation is seeking a place to exercise their God given musical creativity; even if it’s with a local Rock Group who sees nothing wrong with sucking on a ‘joint’ to help enhance or bring forth the “beat” that lies deep within.

* People do not seek WISE Counsel. Seek counsel and seek a Counselor who bases the advise being given on Holy Writ, not on personal opinion. Don’t give up searching for a Godly Counselor.

* Don’t Ignore Opportunities. Everyone is known for two things in their lives: (1) The problems you create -or- (2) The problems you solve. Remember, every problem has a golden door to recognition and reward. If you are asking God for a promotion, be certain that He will schedule a Goliath! The question is: how are you going to handle your Goliath?

* Don’t walk away from opportunities! God has given everyone their own path of FAVOR. Your Dreams, your Ideas, your Creativity, your Accomplishments will happen on YOUR personal path of FAVOR. Learn to recognize it.

Most of the time, unless we are truly “blind” to self, we really don’t “need” someone else to point out our own short comings. There is a “seed” that is planted in each one of us, by our Creator. When we start to say or do something that should not say/do, this little “seed” will “speak” to us admonishing us not to say/or do. That little “seed” is none other than our own “consciousness” attempting to give us the guidance that we need at that exact moment. That little “seed” is the the part of God Himself that He has instilled in each one of us! We can listen to that little “seed” and heed what we are being told and we will find that that little “seed” will actually begin to GROW within us. That “goodness” will gradually get bigger and bigger within, guiding us along our own personal POSITIVE PATH OF FAVOR. On this positive path of favor good things will happen, doors of opportunity will swing open. This is where we meet success. This is where we become known as a person that is a problem solver. You solve your own problems as well as the problems for others.

However, on the other hand we can simply ignore when that “seed,” our own conscious speaks to us. We can go on and say or do whatever “we” started out to say or do. In a very short time you will be known as a person that creates problems. . . for yourself and for those around you.

When your conscious speaks learn to pay attention and obey! It may be one of the most important Spiritual journey’s that you ever take! ~ Ms.CiCi ~
