Human-power is about doing more with less.

I strongly believe in the pursuit of human powered efficiency for a very important reason:

The green, non polluting technical innovations that we develop in our super efficient human powered vehicles designed to go vast distances on the minuscule 1/4 horse power of a human can be incorporated into more fuel efficient methods of transportation that will lessen our reliance on fossil fuels and soften the impact on our environment. Human power is all about the pursuit of doing more with less and it is a refreshing approach compared to our current approach here in North America and many places in the world now, of always seeking to accomplish more with MORE. Bigger cars, faster cars, more consumption, more, more, more.

And in this challenging economic environment, isn’t adopting the attitude of doing more with less going to be a fundamental survival tactic for a lot of companies? Isn’t it also true that one of the greatest resources in most businesses is it’s people? It’s HUMAN POWER!

When I pedaled my human powered vehicle 647 miles in one day and set a new world record, I was out to show the world the amazing distances a mere human being is capable of traveling under his own power when there are no technical limitations. This category of record attempt does not have strict rules regarding your equipment like bicycle racing for example. Aside from not allowing any kind of wind assistance or stored energy of any sort, we are free to explore new innovative technologies in the pursuit of efficiently using every single watt of power from a human being.

It is my hope that people will become inspired by what I am able to demonstrate using human power, and perhaps start to incorporate a bit more human power into their own lives. Greg Kolodziejzyk is a Motivational Speaker

Inspired Motivation A Personal Path

Wednesday 18 March 2009 @ 10:03 pm

by Scott Allen Barker
To be “inspired” to move towards a goal, or a dream is a wonderful and magical experience. Most of us tend to look for inspiration from our surroundings. However, the very best inspiration we can find is already inside us.

Questions :

Does it feel as if your heart dies a slow death with each passing day?

Is there a heaviness at the very center of your being that’s always there, always pulling, always needing?

Do you feel suspended inside a realm where a clock is steadily ticking down precious moments of your life? As if you feel rushed to do something but you don’t know what it is?

If you answered yes to any of the above, chances are you want something, and you want it in a big way. And even if you don’t know what that “something” is, following your raw energy as it presents itself to you now is the quickest path to finding out what that something is, and getting it.

The feelings contained inside the above scenarios ARE YOUR INROADS to your dream’s energy. They are expressions of an inspiration that you already hold.

This does bear repeating :

“The feeling -the ENERGY - contained inside your ‘want’ is YOUR INROAD to your dream’s energy.”

A part of you already knows this. This is the part of you we’re looking for. We need to get his, or her attention. Or rather -we need to pay more attention to this part of Self.

Anguish, despair, boredom …anger, restlessness …whichever one, or two, or all you’re feeling -your dream’s energy lies inside it. Inspired motivation sometimes comes in forms we don’t expect to see it in.

Public Speaking Fears - 5 Top Tips to Have You Speaking With Calm Self Assurance!

Sunday 15 March 2009 @ 3:03 pm

by Jonathan Roach
The act of Public Speaking is feared by the majority of the population even more so that death itself, so major studies have revealed! It is however a fear worth defeating and a skill worth mastering if you can, as to do so will boost your confidence tremendously and enhance greatly your career and social opportunity.

An eminent psychologist once said “do what you fear and death of fear is certain” and he was right! Most of us who suffer with this anxiety spend considerable energy avoiding public speaking situations, but if we were to meet the challenge head on, we would very soon have our fears under control. So ok, you have a public speaking engagement that you are dreading, it’s a week before the event and your anxiety levels are rising, perhaps the event is constantly on you mind, and maybe you are even having sleepless nights. You need help and fast, so what do you do?

Analyse your fear - it’s not speaking in public is it? If you can talk to one person, you can talk to one thousand can’t you - what’s the difference? Dig deep what are you afraid of? Appearing foolisl and nervous in frontof peers perhaps? Drying up is a major concern too, and not coping with the fear and having to make a quick escape is usually the next. So how can you avoid these?

1. Fear is your friend! Actors, sportsmen, and performers of all kinds need a little adrenaline to help them perform to the optimum. You just need to keep that fear under control, so you must prepare well in advance, know almost by heart what you are going to say, and rehearse several times. If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail so learn your speech and only use bullet points on the day-don’t read it to your audience. Learning your speech will give you enough confidence to get you started, and after a good start you will be flying!

2. Check out the venue before the day if possible, and get a feel for it. Then rehearse the event in your mind over and over when you go to bed. See yourself speaking confidently with calm self assurance and your audience interested, engaged, and responding favourably. This will really give you an edge, and where your mind goes successfully, your body will be sure to follow.

3. One the day of the event, steer clear of caffeine and alcohol, they will not help you and caffeine can really push your anxiety over the edge and out of manageable limits. Breathe slowly and deeply, in for a count of 7 and out for a count of 12, this will reduce the anxiety and your nervous system will start to kick in a relaxation response.

4. A few minutes before the event, whilst breathing deeply, remember a significant success moment in your life that you’ve prepared in your mind. Wallow in that success for a few minutes and the feelings that it generated. This will calm you mind also enough to get you started.

5. You’re on and running, pick a friendly face and engage with them, they will respond and you will start to relax. You’ve prepared, you’ve breathed slowly, you’ve had a good start and you are sticking to the script that you rehearsed and memorised and you’re doing fine. If appropriate, ask your audience a question, or invite their questions. This will take the spotlight of you and make your audience think, and see, YOU are now in control, and the audience are being guided by you! Slow down and do not rush to the end. If you find yourself hurrying, just breathe and have few seconds break, you are in control and you just take your time. A good conclusion will make you feel happy and content with your performance.

You’ve done it so congratulate yourself and be so proud of what you have achieved, and do it again soon!

Change Your Mind-Change Your Life!

Thursday 12 March 2009 @ 10:03 pm

by Darla Jo Rodgers
When did you begin to choose the life you are leading now? When did you decide on the job you have, and against the job you want? When did you decide that the money you make now is all you can make? Did you decide?

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life is a book about your future and the decisions you are making today, which will create that future.

“Determination and belief are the starting points for success. They open you to new opportunities to do and be anything you desire, and you only need a subconscious thought to plant the seed. How do we do this?”

This book is based on real answers to that question.

Change your Mind, Change Your Life will walk you through the steps to real answers and teach you to start asking the right questions. By learning how the mind works, we understand how to break the cycles that keep us on the outside looking in, instead of where we truly wish to be.

The understanding found in this book will open your mind and your eyes to a world which has always been there; you just didn’t know the questions to expose it to you.

How often have we found ourselves looking across the road to discover something lacking in our own lives? By changing our Minds we remove the lack in our own lives. We remove the unnamed need that eats away at our day to day lives. By changing our Minds we walk away from a life that constantly needs repairs and begin a life that Rewrites our Reality.

Whether we know it or not our energies are focused and those energies are working in our lives, for better or worse. Like electricity, our own energies do not decide they will work in one area, and not another. Electricity doesn’t stop working because the toaster is bad or the stereo is on a negative channel. Electricity flows through the circuit until it is complete. Our energies act in exactly the same way. Change your Mind, Change your Life expands this simple life truth, and shows you how to change your circuit path so the things you want in your life receive the energy, rather than sending it to the things that are strapping you down.

Read Change your Mind, Change your Life today, and start putting focus and energy into your own success.

To receive this FREE e-book, please respond with your email address and I will gladly forward this to you.

Here’s to YOUR success in whatever you choose to do.

Thank you,

Motivating children through ‘The Magic Sunglasses’ Childrens Book

Thursday 12 March 2009 @ 8:03 pm

by Kaley1
Motivating a child to strive to their fullest potential is a very important aspect within their personal development. An aspect, which will have an impact on them for the rest of their lives. For this we all need a little help and any assistance is warmly welcome. So now think for a moment, about your children, a child in your class, or even a neighbor’s child. Nobody likes to think of a child dispirited, unenthusiastic and despondent. That is why we are signifying Auriel Blanches, amazing book, The Magic Sunglasses.

Once exploring the lead character Samantha’s journey throughout the book you will see a new child. Imagine now, your child no longer has to feel discouraged, depressed and frustrated from all the set-backs and challenges that he/she faces everyday. Now the reader can personally and independently pursue every hurdle with a leap and a smile. They just needed a tiny encouragement and motivation, which this fantastic book will inspire!

The Magic Sunglasses, written by Auriel Blanche (regularly known as Angela Buck) - is a motivational book for children aged 7-9. Enabling parents, educators, and child care workers to inspire and educate children to lead healthy, enriched, and enthusiastic lifestyles. Angela Buck, also the founder of “The Magic Sunglasses Project” believes this all starts in the playful, magical world of a childs imagination… “I dream of a worldwide community of children who have learnt how to value themselves and to use their potential, to live personally successful lives and contribute to the success of others” is her ethos and the inspiration for her fun fantasy book.

Angela believes all great achievements start in someone’s imagination. With this as her focus, The Magic Sunglasses uses powerful paradigms to give thought to children appreciating their own special values and the understanding that everyone is worthy of success. This book uses an innovative story line and creative illustrations to inspire and motivate all children.

Imagination makes it possible for us to think differently about what is, what has been, and to envisage what may be. It’s what enables us to think beyond our perceived normality, to create a world without boundaries or restrictions. Samantha does not limit herself when the super powers from the glasses are in action. When they are no longer with her she is still able to achieve her aspirations.

Ariel believes that children should aspire to infinite possibilities, through their imagination. Throughout the book the motivation in a child is brought to life. This innovative dream’s and aspirations of Samantha in the book inspires children to pursue their own ideals & dreams. The Magic Sunglasses can give a daily inspirational boost to the child to keep their hopes alive as they face the everyday challenges in the real world. So why not give them a help in hand, by reading them the magic sunglasses as a bedtime story, or simply buying them a little gift to enjoy.

Ariel invites children globally to explore their dreams, strive to their potential, to not limit themselves and independently enrich their own lives. With the magic sunglasses, they are free from objective restraints with encouragement to explore possibilities. As they read how another child (Samantha) plays and dreams. They too imagine themselves to be a superstar, singing to the adoring crowds. They too can pretend to be dressing up as a princess or a super hero. They too can imagine being able to eat as many sweets, cookies and ice cream as they like. They can also make play of their own nightmares of witches and goblin, and overcome them with confidence and ambition enthused throughout the book.

The meaning and purpose of the magic sunglasses- is fundamentally to motivate a child by imagination and creativity. Make-believe is important to intellectual development and mental health. It is an integral part of childhood. Ariel Blanche is an influential writer and The Magic Sunglasses should be in every family household. We hope she will be inspiring and empowering children for years to come.

Deep and Meaningful Quotes: How 3 Motivational Quotes Can Greatly Improve Your Life

Thursday 12 March 2009 @ 8:03 am

by Lee, Michael
Deep and meaningful quotes are very important in relation with our lives. These may just be mere words, yet they are created to inspire us to live our lives with significance and worth. Deep and meaningful quotes motivate us to outshine the trials and challenges that may hinder us from attaining success.

Here are some of the most important ones to ponder on…

Deep and Meaningful Quotes # 1: “It’s good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it’s equally good to check once in a while and make sure that you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy.” — George Claude Lorimer

Lorimer cited the importance of happiness for individuals who seem to have lost hope or are deeply engrossed with material possession or worldly success. Too many of us become too busy with our business or job, that we tend to ignore or take for granted the things that truly matter in life. Viewing the quote is a good way of being thankful for the persons and things that really make us live great lives.

Deep and Meaningful Quotes # 2: “You are as happy as you make up your mind to be.” — Abraham Lincoln

The quote talks about real joy and radiating that feeling to the world. You have the choice to make your life better and happier right this very moment.

Some individuals tell themselves that they’ll be happy when they get this or that. However, once they achieve their first dream, they’re never fully contented and then move on to say that they’ll be happy when they achieve the next best thing.

The bar always goes higher if you do not accept that you can be happy no matter what your current situation is.

Deep and Meaningful Quotes # 3: “The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live.” — Joan Borysenko

Borysenko stresses the importance of living life to the fullest. Not one of us knows when our time will come.

It implies how family, friendship, love, generosity and freedom matters. The goal is to leave a legacy even to just a few people, so you can truly say that your life was a blessing to others.

The above-mentioned deep and meaningful quotes are definitely worth reading and applying to your life. To some, reading those quotes may appeal as corny for they haven’t really understood the true meaning of what these words convey. It may take some time for people to get accustomed to the lessons provided.

The quotes can also serve as principles and guidelines when making major decisions. A lot of people would be very quick to choose one thing if they feel that it is the easiest and most convenient. Sometimes, quotes help us understand the value of delayed gratification, patience, honesty and other useful values. You should understand the proper application of these - depending on the situation - and make the critical move wisely.

So seek to share these inspirational, deep and meaningful quotes to live by. You’ll never know when you have given them hope, reason, and direction to live.

Is Your Life Easy?

Wednesday 11 March 2009 @ 2:03 pm

by Ken Keis
“Your past cannot be changed, but you can change tomorrow by your actions.”
Unknown

Is Your Life Easy?

Is your life a struggle and difficult or does it flow easily?

I propose to you that life is not about difficult and hard. Unfortunately, some of us choose to make it that way through our belief system.

The Western cultural norm of “everything has to be hard or achieved through struggle” does not have to be so. Who established the expectation that the value of life is reflected by the level of difficultly you experience while going through it? I want to suggest that we have, in many cases, been misled by this belief.

Easy does not mean being lazy or without any effort, but easy involves accomplishment without struggle. Until we relinquish the belief that “Life is Hard,” we intentionally or unintentionally promote and live a difficult life bogged down in drama.

I’m not inferring we don’t have hard times. But if a person’s life is always a struggle — the problems never cease, and the fun and enjoyment never come — what is that saying about that individual’s belief system?

A person close to me bases his self-worth on the level of struggle he goes through; having an easy life would mean he has no value — that he has not earned success through pain and suffering.

Think about it! Have you ever been part of a conversation where someone stated that another of those present has an easy life, then the “easy life” person got defensive, insisting his or her life is not as easy as it appears? He/she may even have offered reasons.

Why does our society discredit easy when, in fact, that should be our objective and not the exception?

Easy or at least easier should apply to all areas of our lives including relationships, work/career, money, fitness, business, hobbies, interests, etc. In my work on Personal Purpose, the individuals who are most on purpose do not see life as difficult; they are energized by the prospect of having another day to do what they love.

When Tom Cruise was being interviewed about his movie The Last Samurai, the host asked him why he chose to work on this movie for free. His answer: “I am in the unique position not to need the money and to be able to do those projects that I enjoy and choose.” His choice was around his purpose, not money; he wanted his life to reflect his passions which are easier than obligations.

Let me offer a personal example of easy. I grew up in a family that embraced hardship, struggle, and difficulty as a philosophy of life. I admit I have carried forward some of these beliefs into my adult life. Recently, in examining the potential for a Joint Venture Partnership with a specific individual and company, I saw that everything seemed to be a struggle. The negotiation from the other party was win/lose and it was difficult to get answers from him.

I decided it did not have to be that way and stopped accepting his struggle approach to doing business. We ceased negotiations. Immediately, three other potential partners — who were EASY to deal with — linked up with my company.

I believe that our Perfect Customers are easy to deal with; when I shifted to believe that 100%, the difficult JV partner was replaced by the three easy alternatives.

Henry Ford’s quote: “If you think you can or you think you can’t — you’re right” fits the easy philosophy.

When we accept that struggle is the norm, we forget our vision, dreams, and goals. That’s counterproductive.

I encourage you to look at all the areas where you are struggling and ask yourself how can make them easy or at least easier.
1. In what areas of your life are you constantly struggling? Write them down.
2. Rate your level of struggle for each area you identified in your life — make sure you include family, social, business, financial, spiritual, and physical. Use a scale of 1 to 10 — 1 being very easy.
3. What is your belief system about struggle? How is this affecting your outcomes?
4. List what you do want, not what you don’t.
5. In each of those areas, list all the possible approaches that would make your life easy or at least easier.
6. Avoid individuals who want you to be as miserable as they are. To be successful in making things easy, you must be around easy people.
7. Challenge any feelings of guilt that might come along with the idea of having an easy life.
8. Martial art instructors teach their students to redirect their opponent’s energy to achieve victory. Don’t fight struggle; redirect it toward your easier lifestyle.
9. Envision the easy life where relationships, success, and career just fall into place without struggle. Isn’t that feeling worth considering — through a new, improved easy lifestyle belief system?

Until next time keep “Living on Purpose,”

Mastering Your Mind Power: You Are Responsible!

Wednesday 11 March 2009 @ 2:03 am

by Former Retiree
Here are three factors for you to consider. First, everyone is being moved to some goal by his or her subconscious mind. That is not to say that everyone is CONSCIOUSLY directing her or his subconscious mind toward a goal. In fact, in most cases, your subconscious mind is directing the person to goals that were placed in his or her mind by someone else. Your subconscious mind does not care. Its function is to bring into your physical experience whatever thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and mental images you consistently hold in your mind.

Second, once your subconscious mind accepts your goals, it will find ways and means to achieve them, period. Third, it is imperative that you consciously guide your subconscious mind toward the proper goals through programming or reprogramming it.

You are responsible for your life. Whether it is your health, your wealth, your happiness, and subsequently the kind of life you live, you are responsible. All too often, the road most of us take is to pass our responsibility on to others.

Look not to paternalistic Corporate and Public Sector America to provide you with a job that will take care of you financially, including retirement; and to make it possible for you to live the American Dream. Stop making doctors, pills, and potions responsible for your health. No longer make your significant other responsible for making you happy. Quit making preachers, rabbis, priests, and other persons responsible for the care of your soul.

Do not allow others to convince you to believe that your financial life is either in ruins or is heading toward disaster. Sure, the newspapers, news magazines, radio and television news shows, and perhaps your own financial statements may all seem to present evidence that this is so, but that kind of thinking does not HAVE to be reality for you…unless you choose to accept it.

Remember, Napoleon Hill (Think And Grow Rich) taught that EVERY ADVERSITY CARRIES WITHIN IT THE SEED OF AN EQUIVALENT OR GREATER BENEFIT! If you have not already done so, why not hold that quote consistently in your conscious mind until it sinks into the depths of your subconscious mind. Include with the quote an affirmation that your subconscious mind is even now bringing a revelation of that equal or greater benefit to you.

From the day you were born to the day you die, your subconscious mind is constantly being programmed or reprogrammed. Sometimes it is being programmed correctly, but most of the time it is being programmed incorrectly. I do not intend to imply that the techniques used for the programming are incorrect, but that the programming is implanting goals that are attracting more of what you do not wish to experience into your life instead of what you do wish to experience.

It is your responsibility to take control by mastering your mind power and programming your subconscious with goals that bring your desires into your life rather than their counterparts. No one else can or will do it for you.

It is vitally important that you take that responsibility seriously…if you desire a better life. The alternative is to do nothing; and of course, there are plenty of people in and around your life who will happily continue to do the (incorrect) programming for you.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Sculptor 3 Affirmations Software

Tuesday 10 March 2009 @ 10:03 pm

by reuben wallis
Are you in the market for that ‘extra edge’ to help you achieve your goals, if so, you may want to read on. Hard work by itself does not seem to count for much nowadays on account of the sheer competitiveness that seems to be omnipresent everywhere. Either way, we do need that ‘X factor’ to swing things in our favor. I have to say, that offhand, this product did not carry much appeal for me in the beginning as I had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that ‘subliminal’ messages can actually deliver the goods. But it did do exactly that and a whole lot more than I would have ever thought possible. Did you know that television ads as well as political advertisements use subliminal messages to influence the public and that these kinds of messages are the norm than the exception? I have to say that I was surprised to hear that the big corporate honchos use subliminal messages to influence the public as well as their workers. Sure, sounds like something out of a sci-fic movie, doesn’t it? I can’t really blame you for that, for subliminal messages definitely belong in the category of ‘reality being stranger than fiction’. Well, the sculptor 3 affirmations software is as the name suggests, an affirmations software designed to help you achieve your goals by influencing your subconscious. As hard as it may be to take in on the first go, subliminal messages are here to stay and that’s a fact.

The Sculptor 3 Affirmations Software by Jeff Staniforth is the new affirmations software that is designed to help you visualize your thoughts, goals and make them achievable in real terms. This is primarily a software package that you can run on your system and the only catch, as far as I can make out, is that you are required to use this package for ten minutes a day, at least until your goals have materialized. I do have to point out that this product is not a ‘buy it and the world is yours’ sort, but rather one of the ‘Tap your hidden power source’ kind of product. So if you are on the lookout for an easy way out, well, you will need to keep looking, for there is no such product that can offer you the keys to the gardens of Eden.

Now, regarding the specs on the product, here is a list of what you can expect to get with this product. It contains the following - a 12 day affirmation program for quick success, subliminal messaging program, brain wave player feature and Visual programming feature as well as a host of other tools that you can utilize to enhance your chance of success in daily life.

This product is currently being offered at a discounted rate and comes with a host of bonus products. Frankly, I did find the bonus products a bit of a stretch but as far as the product itself goes, it is quite comprehensive. Given the subject matter, I have to say that the author does provide a multitude of tools that you can put to good use. So, do give this product a shot and who knows, with ten minutes a day in the slot, you may well be on your way to achieving the impossible.

Jeff Staniforth provides the ‘X factor’ that we need for success by way of his product ‘sculptor 3 affirmations software’. To know more head to the ‘sculptor 3 affirmations software’ reviews.
