The Secret Movie Reviewed - Does the Secret DVD Really Live Up to Its Promises?

Thursday 19 February 2009 @ 10:02 am

by Tom Ladow
In this article, I will review The Secret movie and hopefully give you enough information to see if it is right for you. Although I have read the Secret book, the content is the same and I enjoyed the movie more so I decided to review it instead of the book.

It seems at least several times a week I hear someone mention The Secret movie so it definitely becoming mainstream. Although the movie came out in 2006, the actual “secret” the movie is based on has been around for thousands of years. In fact, the ancient Polynesians were practicing The Secret long before we ever became aware of it (or had DVD players lol)

It is based on what is called The secret Law of Attraction, which basically states that whatever we focus our attention on, we create more of.

The movie did a really good job of explaining this in an entertaining fashion. So whatever you think about, expands. So if you are focusing or worrying about bills, or your weight, or your love life, you are actually creating more of that situation

Said another way, if you are thinking about what you don’t want or what you don’t like in your life, you are actually creating more of it. Although I don’t feel the movie tells the whole story, I think it did a pretty good job of explaining this

So the recommendation is to focus more on what you do want rather than what you don’t. This works to a certain extent, but if you have subconscious blocks or if your subconscious mind is not in agreement with what you want (usually because it doesn’t feel it would be safe) than this recommendation of just focusing on what you want more of will not work.

Another way of explaining it is that your subconscious mind is actually running the show and if in conflict with your subconscious mind, your subconscious will always win.

So basically, The Secret will work really well in areas of your life where you have no subconscious resistance or blocks. In fact, it will work really well but in areas where you do have blocks, not so much.

The key is in removing those blocks and unfortunately, the Secret DVD does not tell you how to do that.

I do feel that the movie is a really good step forward, though and it is very entertaining so for that, I recommend you watch it…but the Real Secret is in how to let go of subconscious resistance and blocks…and there are several good courses on the market on how to do that

I really hope you enjoyed my article

Self Esteem - How to Improve Self Esteem Today

Thursday 19 February 2009 @ 8:02 am

by Tom Ladow
If you have had trouble losing weight or you keep hitting a plateau in your weight loss efforts, you will want to read this article.

I am going to discuss THE most important factor involved in our weight struggles. You probably haven’t heard it before because there is not a lot of profit to be made from it. You see, you can be on the most advanced weight loss program ever created but it doesn’t matter one iota if you have blocks in your subconscious mind to losing the weight you want to lose. It simply won’t happen.

Simply put, if you are having trouble reaching your weight loss goals, you can be sure there are subconscious blocks that are standing in your way. Many of us have subconscious advantages or reasons to keeping our current weight and disadvantages for achieving our ideal weight.

I know it sounds silly but a good example would be someone who has been really hurt by someone they were romantically involved with and they subconsciously keep the extra weight knowing that they won’t put themselves in that situation again. It is a protection mechanism.

They may have thoughts under their awareness that says “if I achieve my ideal weight, I may be more attractive which will put me in situations that I can get hurt” Again, this is all under the awareness. This example may or may not resonate with you but there are several programs out there that teach you how to pull up whatever blocks are in the way that are keeping you at your current weight and preventing weight loss from becoming effortless.

That is where it’s at. Affirmations, visualization, The Law Of Attraction etc will not work if there are counter intentions in your subconscious mind. In fact, what I have found is that when you release the subconscious blocks to losing the weight you want, affirmations and visualizing what you want all the time becomes unnecessary and heading towards your ideal weight becomes much more natural rather than something you have to force to make happen.

Here’s another scenario: Have you ever made a New Years Resolution to lose weight only to get back to your current habits six weeks later? So have I. We make a goal to lose X amt of pounds and then we find it really hard to keep going.

That wall that we hit upon is called subconscious resistance. It is like driving with the brake on. In any area of your life that requires will power and effort and struggle, you are coming up against a wall of resistance. Unfortunately, the movie The Secret didn’t talk about this. Dissolving subconscious blocks, especially resistance, is paramount to losing the weight or for anything you want in life for that matter.

There are various methods that teach you how to let go of resistance on the spot. Once we let go of our resistance to eating well, to exercising etc., doing these things become effortless. Obviously, action is required, but that action becomes effortless in the sense that we are taking off the brake and just hitting the gas so we easily move in the direction we want.

Letting go of the garbage in your subconscious mind is the real secret to losing weight…or anything else for that matter. This may be the first time you have heard this because if everyone knew this secret, the multimillion-dollar weight loss industry would go bankrupt!

Thank you for taking time to read my article. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it

How You Can Know About Persuasion?

Sunday 15 February 2009 @ 4:02 pm

by tinny tong
Persuasion is equally as rich and intricate as learning a new language and playing a musical instrument, and maybe even more so, because once you know a language, aside from learning more difficult words, and once you play an instrument, aside from learning more challenging compositions, there is a finite amount of information you can learn.

With persuasion, we are dealing with an ever expanding field with breakthroughs happening one after the other.

There are many different forms of persuasion skills but one of the most powerful is using hypnosis techniques. The reason these are very powerful is because hypnosis techniques are designed to bypass conscious resistance. Hypnosis skills might take some effort if you were to become a hypnotherapist, but learning a few simple but powerful patterns for persuasion is easy.

For example a redefine pattern is a simple six word formula that automatically redirects your thoughts and you can learn it in five minutes or less. But how could someone use this?

This is a simple and very powerful pattern and it can be used anywhere where you want a person to stop thinking of one thing and start thinking of another.

There are many more NLP techniques, ideas and concepts that you can take from the field of hypnosis and just drop into general persuasion skills. Many language patterns take minutes to learn and can produce some startling effects. Learning a few simple patterns can give you the edge you need to achieve your goals. For instance a website owner integrated some hypnotic language on his website and saw a 400% uplift in sales.

How To Conquer Your Fears

Sunday 15 February 2009 @ 2:02 pm

by Ben Nelson
Fears. We all have them. Everyone. The poor, the rich, the successful and those that struggle. We all have fears. So, if we all have fears, why are some able to still achieve everything they want, while others are paralized? The answer is simple. It’s not having the fears that stops you, it’s what you do with those fears. Do you let them conquer you, or do you work hard to make sure you conquer them?

There are many types of fears that people may face. The fear of failure, the fear of success, the fear of what others may think or say and the fear of rejection. These are just a few of the major fears that people have. It is often very difficult to overcome these fears. Many times they are ingrained into us over years of experience, self -talk and our surroundings. However, just because it is hard to overcome your fears does not mean you should submit to them. Why live life in fear? Sure it will be hard to change it, but wouldn’t it be better to face and defeat your fears, rather than living the rest of your life crippled by it?

It will probably be very uncomfortable during the process of conquering your fears. In order to conquer them, you must face them. There is no way around it. You cannot expect your fears to go away by avoiding what you are afraid of. Whether it is rejection or failure, you must stand up to your fear in order to overcome it. Stop worrying! Most of what you are afraid of will never happen. But because your mind focuses on the negative possibilities you steer clear of any of those situations. Shift your mind to the positive possibilities.

Also, realize that even if something “negative” happens, so what? What happens if you do fail? Take that failure, learn from it and try again. It will only make you stronger. What happens if you are rejected? So what? Don’t take it personal (it usually isn’t anyway) and move on. Ask yourself “what’s the worst thing that can happen?” and then ask “will I really be any worse off if that worst possibility comes to pass? Has my life really gotten any worse?” The answer to that second question will most likely be “no”.

A lot of this comes down to your self-talk. What are you saying to yourself daily, and what do you say to yourself regarding your fears? Nobody can make you feel a certain way, so don’t make the excuse that you feel bad because of someone else. Never blame your circumstances or other people. It will get you nowhere. It’s not what someone says or does to you that makes you feel a certain way, it’s your response to what they say that is critical. If someone says something negative to you and your response is “they are right. I can’t do this” that is your response to what they are saying. But if your response is “they don’t really know me or what I am doing. I know I can do this and that is just their opinion” then the “negative” experience will not effect you. It is not what someones says to you that matters, it is what you say to yourself that makes the difference.

Facing and overcoming your fears can be one of the most challenging things you will ever do. But when you come out the other side, and you are no longer held back by your fears always wondering “what if I wasn’t afraid to do this?” you will find freedom. Don’t let fear hold you back from what you are capable of. Take control. Do what you are afraid of, and you will soon be afraid no more. “Courage is not the absense of fear. It is acting in spite of it.” (Mark Twain)

A great way to overcome a lot of common fears and grow personally is through network marketing. With a good network marketing company you have the support to help you get over the things that may be holding you back from the success you desire. Dont Think And Become Famous By Morning

Sunday 15 February 2009 @ 11:02 am

by Mark Lewis
There is something that we all do fifty thousand times a day.

That’s right, fifty thousand times and you probably don’t even realize it. Well, you do, but not in the way you think (pardon the pun… the pun which will make sense in a moment).

And what is it we all do in such huge numbers?

You ‘think’ approximately fifty thousand times a day.

Thoughts fill your head at every moment of every day. Both conscious and unconscious thoughts. Will I have a shower this morning? What will I eat for breakfast? What will I wear today?

You have thoughts about your day ahead, you think about the days gone past. Pleasant thoughts of loved ones, parties, holidays and good times may fill your head.

Anxious thoughts of work to be done, confrontations to be had or deadlines to meet fill you with dread. Fearful or angry thoughts of people or dire circumstances raise your blood pressure.

You think about problems or work out a solution. You imagine a perfect moment or fantasize about a special meeting.

Your thoughts tell you who you are attracted to, whether you will be famous and wealthy or good or bad.

Thinking is so common and so natural to us that it is one of the hardest things NOT to do.

Try it now. Tell yourself you are not going to think for the next ten… five or even two minutes.

Did you succeed or not?

More than likely you didn’t, but good on you for trying.

What are thoughts and why do we need to think?

Thoughts can be split, for ease of explanation, into two parts:

Conscious — the chatter you hear in your head all the time and
Subconscious — those you are unaware of that are more like ‘directions’.

Conscious thoughts help us function day to day. The decision of what to eat, what to wear, which way to travel to work, how type that letter or solve a particular problem.

Subconscious thoughts tell you to breathe, tell the heart to pump blood, help to heal and tells the cells to grow.

More importantly though, subconscious thoughts, if programmed right, can answer all your questions, lead you to prosperity and bring you ultimate happiness.

Why do I say not to think?

Because conscious thoughts are like an impressionable child, easily convinced or swayed from their path.

Subconscious thoughts have all the answers you need.

So breathe, relax and don’t think as you become Famous By Morning!

If You Believe, You Can Achieve

Sunday 15 February 2009 @ 10:02 am

by Larry Easto
What To Believe In

To succeed…or bring about our desired results…there are 2 critical things that we must believe.

First, we must believe that something greater than ourselves will provide with what we need to succeed. This ’something greater’ could be called…God…the cosmos…universe…world…or whatever term you are comfortable with.

Not only does this ’something greater’ provide what we need, it provides it in abundance.

You only have to see the abundance in nature to realize how much is provided to us.

Despite our best efforts to limit…or otherwise control…the forces of nature trees, bushes and plants of all kinds continue to survive, even thrive.

Regardless of whether we want it or not this giving continues.

And second, we must believe in ourselves. This means having the confidence that we can use what we have been given to bring about our desired results.

This confidence is so strong that even if we have not completed such a task in the past we believe we can do it.

Our confidence comes from having previously completed a variety of tasks from learning to walk and completing school…to earning a living.

Drawing on successful completions from the past strengthens your believe that you can complete other tasks in the future.

On Its Own, Belief Is Not Enough

Despite this good news about belief…there is also some bad news.

The bad news is that…important as it is…belief, on its own, is not enough.

Nothing happens until action is taken…the actions necessary to benefit from what has been provided.

In effect it is your belief…or confidence…in yourself that drives these actions…the actions necessary to achieve your desired results.

I Believe…

I believe that ..God…the cosmos…universe…world…or something else…will give me the things need to achieve the results I seek.

After having had many worthwhile things come my I have no reason to believe this will not continue.

My challenge is not believing…it’s remaining open to the possibilities that present themselves to me.

How strong are your beliefs?

Do you believe that you can and will achieve the results you desire?

Never Be Satisfied and Become Famous By Morning

Saturday 14 February 2009 @ 4:02 pm

by Mark Lewis
If you don’t grow you stagnate and die.

Thomas Edison knew this as a basic need of the soul. On this he says:

“Restlessness is discontent and discontent is the first necessity of progress. Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure.”

Some people say “what is the purpose of life?”

I like to put it differently and say “to live a life it must have purpose!”

You may have heard the story of a man who has worked all his life towards a comfortable retirement.

He has paid off his house, put his children through schools to see them off into the world.

He saw his job as a means to an end. He did it well with due diligence and was respected by his peers.

Upon his retirement he was given a gold watch and many congratulations and well wishes from colleagues. Off he goes to enjoy the retirement he has worked so hard for.

Six months later he is dead.

Although extreme or just plain blunt as this story may seem, it has played itself in many different ways over the years with similar outcomes.

Your body, mind and soul all need a purpose. At the core of this purpose is personal growth. And if we are not growing, learning, achieving or striving for something better, a new experience improved knowledge or personal power what have we left?

So never be satisfied with your lot in life, never believe you know all there is to know and never ever think that you have achieved all that you can achieve.

Never be satisfied and become Famous By Morning!

What Self-Confidence Can Do For You

Saturday 14 February 2009 @ 4:02 pm

by 30 Wasted Years
Regardless of your age or lifestyle, improving your self-confidence can improve your life. When you begin to develop a stronger sense of self-confidence, it will not take long before you begin to see all of the positive effects that it has on every area of your life.

You may already be well aware of many parts of your life that you wish could be better. On the other hand, you may not have any actual problems, but you often think about how your life could be a little better and more fulfilling.

The key to opening up all of the doors of potential, opportunity, and fulfillment, is a strong sense of self-confidence. First, when you have developed this wonderful characteristic, it will enhance your relationships with other people. You will feel more positive in interacting with others, and this will make communication much more interesting and pleasurable.

Second, self-confidence is your key to both personal and business success. Whether you are a student, a stay-at-home mom, or have an active role with your career and in the community, you will be more successful in the role you have chosen for your life. Fears, worries, and the concern about failure will no longer dominate you; your new self-confidence will help you to see that you have what it takes to succeed.

What is essential for you to know, however, is that this is a quality which must be developed. It is something which nearly everyone can have, if you have the self-motivation necessary to develop it and put it into action. You can read books and attend meetings if you wish, but in the end it is up to you to focus on developing this trait.

Self-confidence is something which individuals are naturally born with. While some are lucky enough to instinctively carry it with them throughout life, most have had various experiences which undermined their self-confidence, leaving them feeling as if they are somehow less than they actually are.

You do not need to rehash all of the bad experiences in order to successfully rid yourself of the negativity. Instead, you can focus on where you are at now and where you would like to be. If you have the self-motivation to begin developing the new strength of self-confidence, you will know that you have the ability to do it.

When you focus on what is, rather than what has been in the past, you will see that you have it within you to develop the self-confidence you need for a happy, successful life.

30 Wasted Years is a twice a week Podcast by Jeff Grundy. The podcast discusses the idea that the billion dollar a year self help industry is just taking our money. Write Your (Future) Biography To Becoming Famous By Morning

Saturday 14 February 2009 @ 3:02 pm

by Mark Lewis
Have you ever truly reflected on your path in life? What you want to achieve and what areas you would like to be successful in?

I’m sure you may have said to yourself a number of times “gee it would be nice to live like them, drive a car like that or be famous as they are”, but in that context it is often just an emotional reaction to the status of another.

Sometimes you might visualize or have fantasies of a different existence.

Seeing yourself in the house you want or that car you have always coveted. Maybe you can see someone sitting behind the desk as the chief executive of the company, doing the work of the boss and instructing staff as only they would do and that someone, happens to be you.

Maybe it’s a holiday with loved ones or a holiday where you meet a loved one?

We all at various times visualize our ideal life. Career, business, wealth and lifestyle even relationships, health and philanthropic pursuits

Now you need to take a moment to truly reflect on these future visions you have of yourself at various moments and bring them all together. Give each substance and make them tangible.

How do you make a reality out of fantasy?

How can you make these ‘dreams come true’?

By writing them down.

You are going to be assigned as your own biographer. Writing a third person account of your future life. The life that you have always dreamed about, you are about to make it real! (For now at least, real in print).

Next write down a number of categories such as career, business, wealth, creativity, lifestyle, relationships, family, health and philanthropic pursuits etc. and number them in order of importance. What you would like to achieve first or what needs to be done before the next.

Now take a weekend, a week a month or longer to put down on paper exactly how you want your life to pan out. Lock yourself away in a room, go camping in the wilderness, a cabin, the seaside, somewhere in solitude where you can meditate and find the path within yourself.

Assign dates to tasks (specific by month and year) so you have a definite goal to fulfill. Always writing in the third person like such:

“By February 2010, Frank will be successfully running his own graphic design business, he easily negotiates a large contract that he can easily and skillfully deliver in the timeframe of…” or “In October 2009 Sarah takes a holiday to Phuket where she has an instant connection with a man and they spend many hours just getting to know each other…”

Continue to write in this style for each category. Be as detailed as possible, close your eyes and place yourself at that very moment. Feel the emotion, experience the moment then write both what you see and feel.

Writing in this manner can have a number of benefits.

Firstly it can save time. Living an experience out on paper will often tell you if it is worth pursuing.

Secondly, by writing it down you are releasing the thoughts from your sub-conscious and allowing them to take seed in the conscious.

Another benefit is that it gives you a daily or weekly reminder of your ultimate goals. So when those opportunities in life come along to fulfill your path you are less likely to miss them.

Once you have your future biography written, read it once or twice a week, take actions based upon it, react positively to situations in tune with it and head on your destiny to become Famous By Morning!

Use Your Day Job To Train As You Become Famous By Morning

Saturday 14 February 2009 @ 3:02 pm

by Mark Lewis
Working for the man, living from paycheck to paycheck, making someone else rich, surviving past ‘hump’ day or thanking God it’s Friday.

If you’ve been known to say one or many of these sayings before there’s a good chance you’re not exactly thrilled about your day job.

Instead of jumping out of bed and greeting a new working day with vigor you slam the snooze button and pray for some illness to get you out of work.

The daily commute to work is like a death march met with about as much enthusiasm as a trip to the dentist or dinner with your mother-in-law. Traffic snarl makes your blood boil, a crowded bus or train leaves you in a filthy mood.

And once you get to work it doesn’t get any better. Maybe your work is so boring and mundane you want to scream out loud, or perhaps you have some smug overpaid, under performing supervisor who’s sole skill is to humiliate or demoralize you for nothing better than their own sense of self importance.

Then there’s the bad news, you can’t quit because you may just end up at another job with the same problems. Leaving your job and starting your own business is not practical at the moment as you have commitments, responsibilities… people relying on you.

So what is the solution if you can’t leave?

How can you turn your day job from the soul destroying monster it is at the moment to an enjoyable destination contributing to your personal development?

Time to think about situations in the workplace (both positive and negative) and assess how you can act and learn from them. How can you take something from your job instead of the job taking from you?

Start at the beginning of the day. As soon as you get out of bed say to yourself “I am going to learn things today that will make me a better person!”

Let the commute to work be a time for introspection, positive visualizations and affirmations.

Look forward to all social encounters you will have today be they positive or negative and remind yourself that you can use them as learning experiences for how you deal with people, ‘sell’ yourself or react to certain circumstances.

Monitor your emotions and if situations or people start to make you anxious, angry or guilty, teach yourself to detach yourself from the emotion, recognize it arising and deal with it in a calm and rational manner.

Learn to open yourself to wealth and fame by always reacting with positive vibrations to the success of others.

Work on your skills of concentration and persistence especially if the task is monotonous.

It is more than just ‘positive thinking’, glass half full or putting a silver lining to all situations. It is an attitude change based on a long term goal. Part of your personal development and growth. You are using the process and day to day experiences of your job to build a better ‘you’.

It is making the most out of the present, making a jewel out of every moment.

Once you accept your working day in a positive manner you will attract positive expressions in return and be headed towards a brighter path.

So go ahead and use your day for you to become Famous By Morning!
