Be All You Can Be

Be all you can be, you may recognize that this is the old army slogan. That slogan is a call to greatness. When you hear it you know you want to be more than average. You want to be one of the elite. There is no room for mediocrity. You want to be standing on the mountain top and still looking higher.

But how do you see yourself. Do you see yourself as someone with low potential or do you see yourself as someone with unlimited potential. How you see yourself will make the difference of how far you go.

Are you a self-starter or are you a procrastinator? You can’t sit around waiting for something to happen you have to make it happen. You must move toward what it is you are trying to accomplish. You must keep it in your sights without deviating to the right or left until you have accomplished it.

What are you saying to yourself? Is the dialogue you are having with yourself positive or negative? Are you telling yourself you are a winner or are you telling yourself you are a loser? How you talk to yourself will not only have a profound effect on your body physiology, but it will have a profound effect on your outlook on life as well.

What books are you reading to expand your mind? One book that is always on the top of my list is the Holy Bible. Not only is it mind expanding, but spirit expanding. Dr. David Snowdon’s study (Nun Study) hints that children may be less likely to get Alzheimer’s if their parents spend time reading to them and boosts early childhood development.

Jim Trelease sums it up nicely in his book The Read-Aloud Handbook. “The more you read, the better you get at it; the better you get at it, the more you like it; and the more you like it, the more you do it. And the more you read, the more you know; and the more you know, the smarter you grow.” If you only read fifteen minutes a day it is possible to read fifteen books in a year. What if you read for a half an hour a day? What about an hour a day? How much smarter do you think you would be in a year’s time?

What is it that you want to do with your life? What are you passionate about? What get your juices flowing? What would you do even if you didn’t get paid for it? These questions are vital in your quest to be all you can be. Don’t be a wanderer through life pick your path. Once you have chosen your path it could take you to heights you never dreamed.

Who do you know that is successful at what you would like to do? Have you talked to them? Have you thought about buying them a meal, and say picking their brain over lunch? They have to eat.

How is your health? Is your diet promoting good health or destroying your health. There are so many different diets out there, but it comes down to one simple fact if you’re trying to lose weight. Eat less and exercise more. Some will say I have a gland problem. You do, it is your mouth gland. Miss a few meals. Try fasting it work wonders.

When was the last time you exercised? Get on an exercise regimen. A healthy mind and body go hand in hand. Try walking a mile a few days a week. Later try jogging. Maybe add some weight training. Do something, don’t be a couch potato.

God created man to be great. He gave you unlimited capacity to learn and to grow. You were not created to fail, but to succeed. You have the God given ability to become whatever you can believe. Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe he can achieve.

Be all you can be, should be our life’s battle cry. We must forge ahead throughout our lives going from success to greater success. Once we have scaled one mountain we should be looking for our next mountain to climb. Don’t stay on the side lines of life get into the game. You were born a winner, go out a winner.

What Makes You Tick?

Can you imagine doing something you love every single day? What a way to live! Right? How many get to do that? I know I do. Everyday I wake up and think I am so blessed to get to do what I love all day. That is a gift that not everyone can to indulge in. I believe the world would be a better, happier place if everyone on the planet lived their passion everyday. However, everyday I hear someone say how unhappy they are with the life they have, but they have no idea what would make them happy. That’s why I chose to write this article on “What Makes You Tick?”

Below is a list of questions to ask yourself to help you find the thing or things you are passionate about. It is amazing how many people will say “I don’t know” or “I’m not passionate about anything,” when asked what are you passionate about or what would you love to do everyday?

So, ask yourself the following questions with no judgments or opinions. Just answer them with ease. Go with the first answer that comes to mind. Don’t over contemplate the answers. Just ask yourself the questions and let the answers flow from you.

Question 1. If tomorrow were my last day on Earth, what would I wish I had done?

Question 2. Do I have a recurring dream or vision about something?

Question 3. What do I feel that I was put on this Earth to do?

Question 4. Do I have something that you deeply care about?

Question 5. Do I find myself consistently thinking about something or having a recurring thought or vision?

Question 6. What are 5 things I am really good at?

Question 7. Ask 5 people what they think I am good at?

Question 8. If I had a week all to myself with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?

Question 9. What are 5 things I really enjoy doingQuestion

10 .. Name one thing I do that hours go by in what feels like minutes?

Now that you have answered all the questions, is there a common denominator? Is that common denominator something you could add into your life every day? My guess is yes. Take the thing that continues to come up and find a way to be, do or have it every single day. Even if only for a minute each day, add it to your life. This is a great way to tap into your hidden passion or childhood dream that was pushed aside for one reason or another. Don’t you think you will enjoy your life so much more if at least once in the day, if not for the entire day, you spend it with something you love?

Remember, it’s never too late to create your fate. Empower yourself and make your life happen by choice!

Having A Positive Mental Attitude.

Having a positive mental attitude is a good thing. It can help you get through tough times. One of the hardest things to do is keep that PMA when you don’t feel anything positive going on around you. Here are some thoughts on how to have a positive mental attitude

For most of us we go through the everyday motions of life and take it as it comes. We either deal with it, or get help. Sometimes however we just feel down for one reason or another. Sometimes we can’t even put a finger on what has us feeling down. Life is just one big drag. We feel like there is no end and this is all life has to offer. We blame other things for our unhappiness. We start to press or give up. We say to our self it will get better just be positive.

I have spent a lot of time reading about the laws of attraction, meditation, and intention manifestation. The common denominator in all my readings is belief. You must believe you will acquire the things you want. What is not the same is how to go about getting the belief. This is the hard part. I feel you must have some tangible successes every so often because you will not believe for long if things don’t start going in your favor. Even if they do, once they stop the doubts set in. You start to question your beliefs. Are they out of touch, are they unrealistic. If belief is god then doubt is the devil.

How do we keep doubt low while keeping belief high? When I feel like I am starting to doubt myself I start to look for anything positive. I might surf the Internet for some positive stories. This is a good way to get rid of doubts. You can always find something online to feel good about. Reading about positive things starts to put those types of thoughts back into your head and sub-conscious. Writing is another way to get into a positive frame of mind. When I feel like things are starting to get away I pull out a note pad and begin to write down something I want to change about my life. I don’t write it once or twice I fill up about 2 or 3 pages with positive thoughts.

The biggest key to having a positive mental attitude is action. We must do something to feel productive. Feeling productive is healthy for the mind. I started this blog as a way to take positive action. It helps me get my thoughts out. It gets my mind working. I keep the belief that one day my posting will have a positive effect on somebody. Here are a few affirmations I use from a book I read Total Self Confidence by Robert Anthony.

Everything I can possibly be is right this moment a part of my consciousness.

This moment I am prepared and equipped to accept my limitless potential.

My consciousness, with its clear correct knowing, produces the desires of my heart.

I am continually receptive to new ways and methods for my greatest good.

This day and every day moves smoothly for me because I am confident and efficient.

Having a positive attitude without taking action in my opinion is no good. As positive as you think, it will lead to nothing tangible. Those positive thoughts should be use to motivate you to take action. Do we become positive from action or does the thoughts lead us to take action. It’s probably different for each person. For me reading and writing positive things lead me to take action

9 Things To Let Your Light Shine In 2009

1. Make the decision and determination to do what it takes to let your light shine.

2. Do self-examination to see what you need to do. Ask yourself questions such as who am I really? What am I here to do? Am I satisfied with my work? Am I satisfied with my life the way it is? What do I need to change and how can I change these things? If you feel stuck while trying to answer these questions, seek divine intervention. That is always a sure way to get your questions answered. Self-examination will help you begin to think outside the box and have the freedom to allow transformation in different areas of your life. You might see some frightening things that you really need to change, but feel the fear and do it any way. Come up with a plan and set realistic and achievable goals. You can begin by writing down one or more things that you would like to accomplish in the next 30 days, for example; I wil lose 5 pounds. Or those you would like to accomplish in the next 90 days. You can set long term goals. Be mindful of the time you have set to complete your goals and work diligently to accomplish them within those time frames.

3. Embrace your passion; your desire; your purpose; your calling or your assignment; whatever you may call it. What is it that you love to do and would do even if you did not pay for doing it? If you can pin point this one thing and begin to take it seriously; to own it and act upon it, you would be surprised to see what happens and you will be well on your way to letting your light shine.

4. Change your way of thinking. Being aware of battles that go own in your mind and taking those thoughts captive is very important to your transformation. As you well know our minds can really trip us and if we are not careful or take it seriously you could spend a lot of time focusing on the wrong things, such as the unpleasant memories of your past. One of the first changes you must make is to take every thought captive, control your emotions and take authority over the battles of your mind.

5. Get out of the mind-set of thinking that you have to be an employee for the rest of your life. I know you may feel comfortable and secured in your job, as I did, but there are no guarantees, especially in these tough economic times when so many people are loosing their traditional jobs. There is a call for creativity. You must find your essence; your unique self and bring it to life so you can fulfill your destiny. Please don’t go to your grave without tapping into that power that lies within you, waiting to be exhaled. You can do it! I dare you!

6. Begin with the end in mind. To keep in mind you must write things down. When we try to commit things to memory we get distracted by all the things that we have to do in our busy lives and we soon lose our focus from the main thing.

7. Invest in yourself and your future and expect the unexpected. Know that nothing is free. Do your due diligence; find people who are skilled in the areas in which you are weak and pay them to do those things that are necessary to get you where you want to go. A coach or a mentor is a must. There is no Plan “B”, so go ahead and execute Plan “A”. Do your research and increase in knowledge and wisdom. The Internet is a wonderful tool; use it.

8. Focus your intentions on your goals and do not give up until you succeed. Just be aware that detractions, disappointments, trials and tribulations, stumbling blocks; you name them, they will come, but if you remain single - minded and focused nothing can stop you.

9. Get help. If you know you have been struggling with moving a head then find people who are doing what you would like to do, who are where you want to be or where you know you should be. Let them mastermind with you and assist you with strategies that you can implement as you attempt to move beyond the barriers that get in your way of succeeding and living life to the fullest. Apply these 9 steps and let your light shine in 2009.

Gratitude - stop taking everything for granted

Everybody knows how to enjoy a vacation. Particularly when we travel abroad, we open our eyes to see new sites and our taste buds are ready to savor new kinds of food. It is easy to appreciate everything when we take a break from our work and our familiar surroundings. But we all return home after vacations and that means returning to routine and our daily chores. In our day to day existence, we tend to take for granted what we already possess and we tend to appreciate only what is new (like birthday presents, surprises). It is not surprising that there are so few joyful moments in our lives. However, there is a way to change and to unlock our potential to find joy in each moment. — the way of gratitude.

Definition Gratitude means a state of being grateful or thankful where we are appreciative of benefit received.

Expressing Gratitude
We express our gratitude by thanking others in words and even more so by our acts. When we thank someone we empower them and ourselves. We recognize their value to us and create joy. How we feel about our past (contentment or bitterness) depends on our memories. The more we can find in life to feel grateful about the more we increase our life satisfaction. Gratitude is a catalyst which puts positive energy into our lives and increases our good memories about the past ; their intensity and frequency. When we start to feel grateful, we begin to notice how much joy we block by taking everything for granted. When we are too self-centered or feel victims, we can’t show or feel appreciation and cut ourselves off from other people.

Research by two psychologists Dr Emmons and McCullogh, shows that people who regularly kept a gratitude diary were more alert, energetic, optimistic, empathetic, and healthy and made greater progress in reaching their personal goals than people who kept an ordinary life event diary.

Here are some examples of things we can feel grateful for :

* Our parents who gave us the gift of life
* Our families and friends
* Our teachers and everybody who taught us the lessons of life
* Our society, country and culture
* Nature and the beauty of our environment

Mastering Your Mind Power: Training Your Imagination, Part 2

When you were born into this world, you came equipped to navigate this physical existence. You were given five senses, the senses of touch, site, smell, taste, and hearing. You tend to assign value and quality of life to each of the experiences that come to you through one or more of these senses. In fact, you probably only assign your interpretation of reality to experiences that come to you through the physical senses. In other words, if you cannot see, smell, touch, taste or hear it, then to you it is not real.

Nearly all of the beliefs you have formed throughout your entire life have been (and are now) based on whether the experiences that formed the basis of those beliefs came through one or more of your physical senses. As I have stated before, the sum total of your beliefs forms your self image. It is from the vast reservoir of subconscious beliefs that images are consistently fed into your imagination.

Your self image, over time (and by using your submerged beliefs), gradually takes control of how you feel about your capabilities and all of the many things you feel are true about yourself. Since most of the beliefs that make up your self image are out of range of conscious recall, is it any wonder that you and so many of us feel almost helpless when it comes to bringing conscious change into our lives?

Your imagination holds the key with which you can unlock the chains of negative automatic beliefs and negative automatic reactions to your daily experiences that have been forged by your self image. You must help your imagination, however, by training it to accept images, thoughts, and emotions that are in harmony with what you desire to experience. The process is simple and easy, but I must warn you that anything that is easy to do is also easy not to do.

You must first establish a definite major goal (or goals). Definiteness cannot be overstated. Napoleon Hill, author of Think And Grow Rich, states that you should have a burning desire to achieve your definite goal or goals. Your goal or goals should be something that truly excites you, something that you can commit to sticking with until you accomplish it, and something that will sustain you during the times you see no physical evidence that your goal (or goals) is coming to fruition.

When training your imagination to entertain pursuits of your choosing, you will need a method that will present and hold your goals in your imagination for longer periods of time. More importantly, you will need a method that will help you keep your imagination free of the things you do not want for much longer periods of time. You will also need to spend more time analyzing want kinds of thoughts, ideas, and images you consistently observe in your imagination.

All it takes to help keep the thoughts and images of things you do not want from camping in your imagination is a loose fitting rubber band and a commitment to use it. Anytime an unwanted thought, idea, or image is observed, a quick snap on the wrist with the rubber band, will instantly stop all thought temporarily and direct your attention to the sting on your wrist. Seize the moment and immediately bring thoughts, images, or representations of your goals into your imagination and hold them there as long as time will allow. Repeat this process whenever you notice unwanted thoughts, images, etc., in your imagination.

This I know for sure. You can claim or reclaim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Women and Self Esteem: Venture Outside Your Comfort Zones and Overcome a Play It Safe Mindset

Have you ever watched someone get up on stage to talk or act or perform in some way and say to yourself: “I would love to do that, but there is no way it’s going to happen.” How about being invited to sign up to run a marathon? You love to run, but again you tell yourself “No way… I could never do that.”

You would rather play it safe and stay in your comfort zones. It’s taken you years to develop and create your comfort zones and now that you have them you rarely venture outside their boundaries. Life is predictable and safe inside.

Here’s the thing:
If you let your fear, doubt and uncertainty keep you playing it safe, you are leaving a lot of opportunities for adventure on the table.

Lets look at a number scale of 1 — 10. This is a tongue in cheek analogy, it is not meant to judge or offend, please take what you like and leave the rest.

One to Three: Represents the mindset of a couch potato… the ultimate comfort zone… snuggled up in your blankie… staying safe and warm and inside. Nothing very challenging happens here. You watch the same programs on tv, eat the same foods, talk about the same topics with the same people, take the same routes when you travel… etc. The same, familiar patterns every day. Routine, routine, routine.

Three to Five: A bit more adventure. You might enjoy an spontaneous invitation to a show, or a dinner or something else safe. It is still quite comfortable and predictable here. This is where many of us stay. We establish patterns and routines and have small adventures within those boundaries.

Note: Not a lot of growth happens up to this point. You may be learning things, but as far as personal growth is concerned, this is not the level of consciousness that is going to inspire you to take a risk and take you to new levels.

Five to Seven and a Half: This… is the optimum growth zone. You are far enough outside your comfort zones to experience new possibilities and a bit of un-comfort and un-balance. This is where you grow and expand. This is where life is interesting.

Seven and an Half to Ten: This is the extreme zone. It’s hard to grow and learn and expand when your adrenalin is surging through your body and your survival instincts have kicked in. This is akin to jumping out of an airplane, or being expected to do a stand-up comedy routine if you are a shy person. It’s hard to expand your consciousness when you are terrified. This is a survival zone, not an optimum learning zone.

Epilogue:

Are You Ready For The Law Of Abundance in 2009

What exactly is the law of abundance; it can be said it is the understanding of the cosmic law of attraction; and what it is not, is how much money we have in our bank accounts.

With the holiday season almost over and Christmas definitely over, it is time to reflect on the New Year and most of us are thinking of ways to attract more abundance into our lives. We are looking for new and effective ways to accomplish this. We create our own reality and those who are efficient in attracting positives; have trained their minds to focus on their desires. This is a very important step in the attracting abundance. When we are focused on “not enough” it won’t ever matter how much money we have, it will never be enough.

Let’s explore this statement of focusing on our desires; many times we get so caught up in what we don’t want that we forget to focus on what we do want. We can manifest things we don’t want as well as things we do want. So attracting things in our life like money, relationships, and employment are just a matter of us having a clear mental picture of what we want and then focusing on them the way we want them. When we focus on “having less” then we create that experience for ourselves.

Our employment is a huge area of our life and many of us are in jobs we would rather not be in and we focus on “I hate my job” and that leads us to where we will never notice the aspects of our employment that might be satisfying and being in a grateful space that we do have an income until the perfect employment comes along….and/or we manifest our perfect employment.

You likely know someone who is a really great at manifesting. Well, it may be that they were born with the knowledge of manifesting already intact, how great that would be. You may even have felt somewhat jealous of that person because it appears they have everything, seemingly getting these things with little effort as if they were born under a lucky star. What we can realize is that, as with any other skill people have, manifesting is no different from learning to play an instrument, juggling, being a computer whiz; it is about centering your mind and being on what you intend; and never look at what you don’t have.

In 2009 let’s put our best foot forward, or I could say, put our best thoughts forward and visualize and actualize the thoughts, feelings, people and places we want to manifest in our life for this year of all possibilities and opportunities. It is a knowing that this is happening right now and you are creating your world of law of attraction. Visualizing your intentions are an important part of manifesting, so get your 2009 picture of what you intend on manifesting clear in your mind and visualize it on a daily basis. There are many tools and programs available to assist you in achieving this if it doesn’t seem to come naturally for you, another avenue you can take is find a personal life coach to guide you in the best directions for you.
