Mastering Your Mind Power: Train Yourself To Better Use your Imagination

Friday 19 December 2008 @ 11:12 pm

by Former Retiree
It has been said that a person can create anything that he or she can imagine. The Law of Attraction school of thought goes so far as to teach that not only CAN a person create what he or she imagines, but that person WILL create whatever is consistently brought into the imagination and supported with emotions. The Law of attraction also teaches that it does not matter whether what you imagine is something that you want or something that you do not want, creation is going to happen.

Under the control of the self image, we human beings tend to act, feel, and perform according to what we imagine to be true about ourselves. It is commonly believed that we act or fail to act by the force of our wills. This belief is far from the truth. We act or fail to act because of our imagination, because of the mental pictures we consistently hold in our minds. Eventually those pictures are taken over by the automatic mechanisms within our subconscious minds and the physical counterparts of those pictures are brought into our objective experiences.

The wise will readily see that every person of sound mind can begin to take control of what consistently enters his or her imagination right now, in this very moment. The wise will also begin to take whatever steps are necessary to better train himself or herself to make better use of his or her imagination to focus more on what he or she desires.

Imagination has been called the creative power and the mirror of the soul. It is a place that is uniquely yours wherein mental images, pictures and representations of objects and ideas are registered in your mind. The imagination has also been called the workshop of the mind wherein old ideas and facts may be reassembled into new combinations and put to new uses.

One of the most remarkable things about the imagination is it has been found to have absolutely no boundaries. What this means to you and me is we are totally free to build our lives, from this moment forward, as we want them to be; and if you are not now living and experiencing the life you desire, your imagination is not now consciously being used for that purpose.

You will never have a definite goal, the confidence to accomplish that goal, nor the initiative to pursue that goal unless you first create those qualities, through habit, in your imagination. You must dedicate some time to training yourself how to effectively use your imagination for your benefit. It was provided to you by your creator for your individual use.

Never mind that you have not used it to build you ideal life to this point. That situation can be changed in an instant. All it takes is a decision by you to subject yourself to the training necessary to begin consciously building your own life to suit you. Use your imagination in which to build it component by component. While doing so, please remember to be patient with yourself.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

How To Create The Self-Motivation to Achieve Anything You Want

Thursday 18 December 2008 @ 3:12 pm

by Frank Mayes
The following article covers a topic that has recently moved to center stage–at least it seems that way. If you’ve been thinking you need to know more about it, here’s your opportunity.

The best time to learn about motivation is before you’re in the thick of things. Wise readers will keep reading to earn some valuable motivation experience while it’s still free.

Motivation is not something you’re born with. And certainly if you’ve grown up in a negative environment, you probably suffer from a lack of it. I’m sure you’ve heard of how many times we’ve heard the word NO before we’ve reach puberty…thousands of times. But as we grow older we start to realize that motivation is the key to achieving a lot of great things. Maybe you want to try out for a sports team at school or perform in a school play. Motivation will play a very important key as to whether you are a player or just a spectator.

You see, you can’t just sit back and wish that term paper completed on time or wish the high paying job falls in your lap. You cannot simply slack off and drink yourself to death or you may never get ANY job.

So how can you motivate yourself to do the things you know you need to do?

For a lot of people who have been burned out in school or the workplace, this can be a difficult thing to accomplish. However, there are a few tips you can do when you feel that you cannot push yourself to do what you know you need to do.

-First of all, know exactly what it is you want. What are you attempting to motivate yourself to do? Do you merely want to finish a job, or do you want to earn a lot of money? Set real achievable goals for yourself. If you know exactly what you want, believe me, you can get it, and therefore you can motivate yourself to get it.

- Give whatever you do, purpose. Make it mean something to you. The problem with a lot of people is that they work hard but they don’t know what their working for. Is it just money to pay the bills? Are they simply working toward money? Do you want money, or does your money have a purpose? Give yourself a real reason so that you can know what you are working for. Just striving for money is an empty goal; striving for money so that you can get a good house and a nice car might be more tangible; striving for more money so that you can help your siblings go to college, your parents to enjoy their retirement, and your family to have a better house and car might be even better.

- Do yourself a favor and take a break. Sometimes, being burned out means that you need to stay away from things for a second, have some time alone for yourself, and get an objective view from a friend of your situation. When you start getting tired more often, your body might be telling you to slow down; slowing down could mean re-energizing yourself by taking a vacation, or even just taking a walk. You may want to set aside some alone time each day for you to get recharged, so that you are not constantly being barraged with work.

- Above all and this is an important one, Don’t be afraid to say no. People who have a problem saying no almost always are stressed out or are hiding that they are stressed out. Eihter way, it isn’t good. Keep your work to a manageable level. You need to stay sane to keep on working in the long run.

- Lastly, don’t feel bad about rewarding yourself for a job well done! Plan a trip for yourself, or promise to take yourself to the movies if you complete your work by a certain time or date. Little rewards, such as a banana split, can work too.

It never hurts to be well-informed with the latest on motivation. Compare what you’ve learned here to future articles so that you can stay alert to changes in the area of motivation.

How to Overcome Fear and Procrastination

Wednesday 17 December 2008 @ 5:12 pm

by Priscilla F. Parham
If we listen to world news today, they give us every reason to be fearful. If we give in it seems that something dark lurks around every corner of our mind. The challenge with fear, either real or imagined is that it can hold you back from doing well in life.

When one lives with constant fear you may also be prone to procrastination because they are two sides of the same coin. In fear you cannot move forward which makes you hesitate or procrastinate on a lot of issues, especially if one believes nothing he does is good enough. Instant fear is designed to quickly move people out of dangerous situations, but prolonged or constant fear is not the natural state of the body.

Take Susan as an example. She is someone who really wanted to be a nutritionist but because she was always heavy she thought she couldn’t do it. Many people told her she should take classes at the community college but she was too afraid to even call them for fear of rejection. Susan had already negatively assumed the outcome of her efforts in her mind.

When you are in the midst of feeling afraid of anything take a step back and really look at the situation. Are you in danger of some kind? Is it moving you out of your comfort zone? Are you afraid of succeeding? Are you afraid that if you make that move your life will change way too much?

If so, close your eyes and ask yourself, “What would I do if I weren’t afraid?” As you calmly wait for your answer(s) without judgment you will find that fear is a complex illusion. It is an elaborate scheme by your ego to stop you from moving ahead. The dominant ego keeps you from experiencing your life in a way that will make you happy. Fear is based on events from the past that make us wary of making certain moves, old rhythms or patterns often set long ago by life experiences.

How can you release the fear and help heal procrastination? First of all by acknowledging it and then taking an action step forward. The problem lies in basing your present on the past or the future. One simply should not accept that what happened in the past will be some variation of what happens now. This vicious cycle can keep one trapped in negativity. The more closely related to the now you can be, by breaking your fearful goal into tiny manageable steps or a smaller to do list, the easier it will be to release the fear.

Going back to our example, if Susan had just called the community college it would have been a step towards her goal. She could have talked to a counselor and then perhaps have signed up for one class at a time, opening the door to new possibilities. Susan can always leave herself open to changing her mind as she moves along, helping to get past her fears.

Life can be wondrous when you release fear and side step procrastination. Now is the time to move out of your fear and take the first step. You never know what will happen to make your life become bigger than you ever imagined. I always like to keep in mind the old adage “Fear is just, False Expectations Appearing Real.”

Hypnosis Audio Programs for Self Help

Wednesday 17 December 2008 @ 5:12 pm

by cristina
When it comes to behavior change there is no better help than using hypnosis audio. This can be in the form of CD, digital download and some people still have cassette tapes. Either way, you get the same information but with different audio quality. When you apply this process when attempting any type of change the results may amaze you. People are always surprised at how well they can do using hypnosis audio.

People have found many ways to attempt change, most futile and some even unreasonable, but the most effective way for personal change is hypnosis and an audio hypnosis CD the most immediate and inexpensive. Once you receive your CD you can use it at the time right for you, maybe right away after you get your mail, or whenever the time is available as opposed to having to fit a scheduled appointment into your day.

I love it when clients I work with who have been very closed to the idea of hypnosis but are at a point where they will “do almost anything” experience more of a change than any other time in their life. We can’t believe what we don’t know or can understand and grasp and the way people have been misled about hypnosis it’s difficult for them to understand and believe what is possible with this passive yet highly effective process.

Using a hypnosis audio CD to assist in creating positive personal changes takes time. It took time for the bad habit to develop so it will take some sort of time to get better. Seems pretty simple to understand, right? Then why do most people not follow through with the simple instructions and sit quietly and comfortably with a pair of headphones and relax for 20 minutes each day.

One big mistake people make with hypnosis and many other things is they try it and if it didn’t work then they dismiss it completely. I have had many people use my hypnosis audio CDs and said how glad they were that they did because what the4y used in the past just didn’t work or they were uncomfortable with it for whatever reasons, recording quality, the hypnotist’s style or voice, etc.

Whether it is audio hypnosis tapes or CDs or MP3 downloads, if the recording was made by someone who understands hypnosis and how sounds and dialogue can create behavior and thought change, the results will be the same and results are all that matters. It doesn’t matter if the recording is slick and polished or sounds like a recorded phone call. If you don’t get results nothing else matters.

Over the last few years, many Hypnosis Audio Tapes and programs have been developed and are for sale online. It’s important to be cautious because all are not produced the same. Please visit our site for more details.

Why Giving Chance a Chance Means Taking Risks

Wednesday 17 December 2008 @ 4:12 pm

by Priscilla F. Parham
On any given day each of us takes a risk. It can be something small but it can also be something that changes our lives. It can be as simple as deciding to take a different route to work or it could be something very different such as taking an adventure vacation by yourself.

Each time we take a risk there is always change. There can only be change when we walk out of our comfort zone and move forward at any given point in time. If you want change in your life then you must know that some of it will be left up to chance. Chance is that situation that you are not anticipating, but change is the fluid that keeps life flowing and expanding.

Many people believe in games of chance and many have done very well with them. As an example we always find people who play the lottery or go to the casinos and win money. We marvel at some of them because they win the larger pots. We don’t think this is possible for ourselves so we don’t think about it too closely.

This is just one type of chance. Sometimes people “take a chance” on love. They get the confidence with another person and they put time and energy into cultivating a relationship. This is another kind of chance.

When we think about chance and risk though, we have a tendency to back away from it and worry. We want to move our lives forward but we don’t want to take a chance because - you fill in the blank. Generally when we do not want to take chances it is because we are stuck living in the past.

A chance is something that we need to take whenever we want to advance life forward. This gives us a fresh perspective. Taking a chance also helps us see what the universe has in store for us and it develops in what ever way that we truly intend. Our intentions being our inner dialog which is not always the same as what we verbalize to others.

Most humans are clinging to the past or trying desperately to get to the future. They are not involved with the present and this is where they need to be if they want more joy. The past or the future is so attractive because it is the way that the ego keeps us motivated to be doubtful of our current actions.

Everyone can think of a time when they were too afraid to take a chance or second guessed themselves and they found out later that they missed out on an opportunity that would have been good for them. This is important to know and to remember.

The next time you are thinking about giving chance a chance, consider meditation or quiet reflection on the idea for a short time and see what options come up for you.

After your meditation, take whatever steps you are nudged to do. Let go of the past and the future and just BE HERE NOW. Stay with this and know you are safe. Taking chances will keep you in the flow of life.

Become part of something that is sweeping the world with inspiration. You’ll find a wealth of spectacular material including free affirmations, beneficial worksheets and other useful tools to download at http://motivatingmessages.ning.com.

ExperienceI only started writing this story really late into week 1, to be precise end of Day 3, as I was not sure whether I wanted to participate. As such, had a lot of catching up to do and I had to typed away like a frenzied person. Fortunately, I am not working at present so I am able to type all day long. At the end of Day 5 however, my fingers were really, really numb after being curled in the typing position for hours at a stretch.

See your success

Monday 15 December 2008 @ 9:12 am

by Cindy Hartman
Achieving success comes from within. We read books and listen to CDs which give us the opportunity to motivate ourselves. These ideas from others encourage us to create our successful universe. I believe in creating our own destiny, of visualization, of ‘seeing’ our success. But no professional speaker or author proved it to me more than 7 young men who ran high school cross country.

They taught me that visualization is a 3-way process. You can’t just have a goal and expect to achieve it. There must the goal, of course, but then the ability to see it happening, and finally the motivation to make it real.

My son was on that cross country team. They were rated in the top 10 in the state, but certainly not number 1. They could have paid attention to the newspaper articles, the buzz about other teams being better. They could have seen themselves as a 4th or 5th place team. But the strength of visualization gave them permission to see themselves differently. It allowed them to see themselves as state champions. And that vision gave them the stamina to train like champions.

The team worked hard, running 2 times a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. It didn’t matter if it was 95 degrees or 20. They were good and this intense training made them even better. They saw themselves winning it all. The key is they didn’t just see themselves on stage receiving their blue ribboned medals; it was much more than that. They saw each step, each race, each victory one at a time.

Before each meet the team formed a circle, each mentally ran his own individual race. Their eyes were closed and their heads as they saw themselves maneuver a curve or push up a hill. The entire team saw every detail of every race from a perfect start at the pop of the gun to crossing the finish line.

Did each race turn out as they envisioned? Absolutely not. Sometimes they didn’t place where they expected. Other times they didn’t run the pace they anticipated. Instead, they visualized themselves coming in strong, arms in the air in victory … In reality, we — and they - saw wobbly knees carrying sweat-soaked bodies, each struggling to breathe as they often staggered to the finish line.

But I also saw winners race after race! And at the end of the year, they stood on stage as state champs! Their vision became reality! The physical effort these boys put forth was amazing. But the edge they brought with them was that they saw it happen before the season even started!

These 7 runners — who on paper were not a championship team - made me a believer in visualizing your way to success. Of course, just seeing it won’t make it happen. What it will do is permit you to believe it can happen. It will allow you to work toward your goal with a belief that it will happen. Once you allow yourself to see it, you will begin to believe it.

See your success and each step you need to take along the way to reach your goal. This is what allows one person to become a success while others sit back and wonder why life dealt them a bad hand.

The same is true in our business life. Our business associates, fellow networkers and power team members help us see what we can be and help us get there. We are each other’s cheerleaders, mentors, teammates. Without support, without others keeping us at the top of our game, we will not have the success we want. We, like the cross country team, hold each other to a higher standard. Your teammates’ successes are your successes, and yours are theirs.

Success is not a sprint. Achieving goals is more like a cross country meet — a long run, one step at a time, with obstacles, ups and downs, people getting in your way, maybe even pushing you off course, and in the end, it’s you — alone — crossing that finish line. You’re exhausted, but jubilant with arms in the air. And you know that your team helped you get there.

You take a moment to celebrate the victory, and then you’re off again, ready to start visualizing your next goal and seeing your next success. The cross country team did that. They decided that one blue ribbon was not enough. So they immediately began their new vision, their new goal of back-to-back state championships. They worked through the pain, and knew it was worth the effort. They found strength in visualization because they knew that it worked. They gave themselves permission to believe!

How to Overcome a Lifetime of Conditioning

Sunday 14 December 2008 @ 10:12 pm

by Priscilla F. Parham
Are you currently in the habit of experiencing unwanted events in your life over and over again? When we experience unwanted events over and over in life we can feel like a victim of circumstance, becoming annoyed at the injustice of life.

Little do most realize that these seemingly random events or obstacles stem from a lifetime of conditioned beliefs. Beliefs that run on auto-pilot in the background of our lives, producing fear and doubt.

Fears that often get us stuck in a lifetime of trying to overcome obstacles, creating a victim mentality. When we experience the very obstacles we are trying to avoid, we use this as a justification for our fear in the first place, because a fearful mind looks for what is wrong.

Occasionally being stuck in a rut is natural but there has to be a point when enough is enough. If you’ve been doing a lot of talking, it’s time to start the action part. Become active in your vision of a better life.

So how do you overcome a lifetime of conditioning?

First and foremost we need to question the validity of our fears. Stop and look for what is right about the situation, instead of wrong. There is a definite need to move from focus on the unwanted events to finding and making the solution our focal point.

Next, it’s time to replace old beliefs and create real change. The best way to surrender the comfort of a lifetime of old fearful conditioned beliefs is to establish a new trust; a trust in yourself to create and direct pleasant events and solutions into your life. The same trust and confidence that you have, that your name is –, that you weigh –, that your height is –, and that you live at –.

So how do you create trust and confidence?

We will use this 100 percent surety that you are who you believe you are and sit in front of a large mirror.

In front of your mirror repeat each of these statements 3 times:

I am (insert your name) and I love myself.
I am God and I love myself.
I and God are one and I love myself.
All is well and I am safe.

It does not matter whether you laugh or cry, just develop this into a habit. Surrender to the good that is inside you. Habitually expecting trust and confidence in the goodness of life produces trust and confidence in the goodness of life. Any chronic negative beliefs stem from a lifetime of belief in fear or lack thereby creating unwanted events and obstacles over and over again, which only offer solidifying reinforcement in the original belief.

Does this mean that nothing unpleasant will ever happen? Of course not, it means that nothing happens to make us feel afraid. We come to see the validity in creating good feelings and beliefs for ourselves.

James Allen may have said it best, “People are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves. They therefore remain bound.”

Become part of something that is sweeping the world with inspiration. You will find a wealth of spectacular material including free affirmations, beneficial worksheets and other useful tools for your enjoyment at http://motivatingmessages.ning.com

Get Well and Stay Well With a Healthy Diet and a Healthier Attitude

Friday 12 December 2008 @ 3:12 pm

by Constantine George
In order for the body to properly maintain itself and stay optimized for day to day living, it’s important to have both a healthy body and mind. You can achieve glorious health by engaging in a diet that’s nutritionally sound along with a positive mental attitude!

If you feel that you are lacking in one area or the other, you may want to change your diet, your exercise routine, or your overall mental attitude. Generally such lifestyle changes don’t happen overnight so be patient when looking for results. If you’re trying to lose weight, remember that sometimes the body gets healthy on the inside first before you see results on the outside.

How To Get Started

First, start with a detailed evaluation of your current health - both physically and psychologically. You should know what, if any, medical conditions you have, as well as any mental conditions that are present.

Do you have:

* A weight issue
* High blood pressure
* Elevated cholesterol
* High blood sugar
* Medium to high risk for enduring a heart attack or stroke
* Sleep complications
* Depression
* Deteriorating health as you get older

Your health care provider can answer these questions for you as well as make suggestions for changing to a healthier lifestyle.

Making Lifestyle Changes

Once you’ve evaluated your current health situation, you should consider how you’ll make necessary lifestyle changes. Setting small goals for yourself sets you up for success as you achieve each small step.

For example, if you have an issue with being overweight, what are some changes that may help you drop a few pounds?

* Common behaviors that tend to pack on the pounds include drinking sodas, indulging in a lot of sweets, eating a lot of processed foods, and even eating late in the day. Avoid bringing high fat, high calorie foods into the house so you won’t be tempted to eat them.
* Join a gym or take a walk around the block at lunchtime. Ask a friend to join you and make a habit of it. Simple exercise relieves stress and improves your heart.

If you have trouble sleeping, take a quick look at the area you sleep in. Is there something that could be distracting you? Watching television before bed - or while in bed - can over stimulate your brain, causing you to have sleep issues. Limit your TV viewing before bed and keep it turned off in the bedroom.(

* Stress can affect your sleep. Develop a bedtime routine to enable your mind and body to relax before going to bed.

Change anything that could have undesired results - even if it’s only one or two things at a time.

Change IS Possible

If you want to get well and stay well with a healthy diet and attitude, consider your overall feelings about life. Do you tend to stick with the notion that the glass is half full, or do you think the glass is half empty? Do you play the victim when it comes to obstacles in your life, or do you see challenges as opportunities you can use to improve yourself?

Each day, think about all the things that went right. Even if it seemed like a black cloud was following you, certainly something good happened. Think about the good things in your life and meditate about the many good things coming your way tomorrow.

The most important thing to know and understand if you want to be healthier is that you are directly responsible for at least 95% of all that occurs in your life. As for the other 5%, there are ways to deal with those things in a positive and productive manner as well.

If you want to get well and stay well with a healthy diet and a healthier attitude, it’s completely possible! All it takes is some self evaluation, goal setting, and the motivation to make a change. Take it one step at a time and you will succeed!

Intrinsic Motivation - Key to Self-Motivation for Success in the New Year

Thursday 11 December 2008 @ 8:12 pm

by The Success Motivator
We all know motivation is your desire to achieve a defined goal. It is your commitment to the actions that will make that goal happen, leading to your Success.

Now, Intrinsic Motivation refers to your inner desire to achieve a set goal. You want to do this, not because of the external rewards such as money or fame, but because you actually enjoy the challenge of achieving your goals.

Extrinsic Motivation is the exact opposite. It is based on your desire to achieve a set goal because of the reward involved and not because you enjoy the challenge that goes with it.

Intrinsic Motivation is a higher form of motivation because it reflects your emotional maturity and discipline. It also shows your level of character development. You did what you said you would, not withstanding the challenges you come up against. This shows that you are a person of integrity. You can be counted on to stand by your word. This in itself, is your greatest motivation. Now, this does not mean that you don’t want, or appreciate the rewards of achieving that goal, but that it is secondary.

Neither intrinsic motivation, nor extrinsic motivation means that you are always excited and full of energy to achieve your set goals. It does mean though, that you are committed to acting on your goals and the goal plan. Even when you come up against difficult or unexciting challenges.

We are drawing close to the end of another year.

Its been 12 months of expectations. Dreams fulfilled or frustrated. It’s that time of the year again, when we assess our progress made, as well as make new plans for the coming year. It is that time for making New Year resolutions or setting new goals. Another chance at a fresh start. A new beginning.

Another opportunity to dream again.

This year, I want to challenge you to take your New Year resolutions beyond mere dreaming or wishing. This year, I challenge you to set your New Year resolutions as specific goals. Identify and understand why you want the things on your list. And then, draw up a specific goal plan you will follow to achieve them.

As you do this, and to help you focus on the really important things on your list, I would advise that you ask yourself these 6 questions.

These questions are eye-opening and mind revealing. And answers to them will help you identify your ‘Why’. These answers will also help make your resolutions more factual and concrete.

These eye-opening questions are:

1. What exactly do I mean by… (that goal or resolution)?

2. What exactly does it look like? So I can recognise it when I see it happen in reality.

3. Picture your goal or resolution as reality. As if you have already achieved it. Then identify and observe the feelings it evokes in you. Ask yourself, “Why do I feel this way?” “Why does the reality of this dream, this goal or resolution of mine, make me feel this way?”

4.Think deeper about this resolution. “What does it involve? What will I have to do to make it happen, now that I know how I feel about it? How long will the process take?Who will I have to involve to make it happen? Faster?”

5. Why are these resolutions important to me? Why do I want these things to happen to me next year?

6. And finally, when you have achieved your goal/resolution, what will it mean to you? What does it mean to you to have done what you said you will do?

Next, draw up an effective SMART goal plan for achieving your resolutions.

A SMART goal plan considers the following things;

Where you are presently,
Where you want to be. This is your goal/resolution.
The most cost, time and resource effective means of achieving that goal.

Set a step-by-step, simple, realistic but exciting - i.e not too tough but not easy - goal plan.

Then follow it through.

Whatever type of motivation works for you, it is important to engage it to give you emotional focus and inspiration, as you set out to achieve your goals/resolution for the coming year.

Also, set up specific periods during the year - probably monthly or quarterly - to check your progress. This will allow you to make nessesary adjustments or improvements as may be needed.

And very importantly, celebrate your “little” successes along the way. Little drops of water makes a mighty ocean. Self motivation is key here. “Little” successes along the way amount to the “big” success of the achievement of your goals at the end of the year!
Needless to say, there is still time to achieve some more of those goals/resolutions for this year.

As you make a conscious, determined effort to make your New Year resolutions definite set goals, you will stick to, and actually achieve your goals/resolutions. You will go on to make the coming year your best ever yet.

Believe in yourself that this time, you can. And you will. Remember - You can, if you think you can. So go on Champion, make it happen!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy, fulfilling and successful New Year. Celebrate and let us know about your successes.

Because You will Succeed!
