Usually, when you think of vegetarians, you think of people who avoid eating any type of animal flesh including beef, pork, lamb, poultry, fish, etc. There are several types and variations to vegetarianism. While many of the vegetarians are lacto ovo vegetarians who will everything but any kind of meat, some others will avoid eating eggs and dairy products and others will say no to beef, pork and poultry but will include fish and other seafood in their diet.
i) Vegans:
The followers of this type of diet stay away from all and any meat products as well as such food items that are derived from meat such as eggs, honey and even milk and its products. Stricter vegans stay clear even from beer and some wines. Others also do not use cane sugar because bone char is used in the production of it. Though not related, such dieters would also not buy jackets, purses or shoes made from furs or leather.
ii) Macrobiotics:
This diet started and spread out from the far east and Japan to be exact. According to this set of beliefs, there are particular rules and food items allowed. Since it is based on creating a balance between the two Japanese ideals: yang and yin, ingredients include different kinds if vegetables, fruits, whole grain, seeds and some soya and nut derivates. Fish is permissible.
C) Lacto-Ovos:
Based on the Latin word for milk and eggs, these vegetarians follow a simple rule. No meat, no fish, no poultry no sea-food but any and all kinds of egg and milk derivates are allowed.
The lacto ovo vegetarian category is divided into two categories:
i) An Ovo Vegetarian does not eat meat and dairy products but does eat eggs.
ii) A Lacto Vegetarian does not eat meat and eggs but does eat dairy foods.
D) Raw Vegans:
Also called raw foodists limit themselves to unprocessed food that has not been heated above 115 degrees Fahrenheit or 46 degrees Celsius. Therefore, their diet mainly consists of raw vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. However, some of the raw foodists do consist raw food that was derived from animals in their diet including raw eggs, unheated dairy products and sushi.
E) Pescetarians:
The pescatarian or pescetarian (depending on how you spell it) are those who refrain from consuming meat but will take in shellfish, sea food and fish. This group of vegetarians are less formed from those who have become vegetarians because of ideology and more from those who are forced to follow such a diet due to health problems. Others also rationalize that the killing of fish is much less crueler than the killing of animals or that fish are not as intelligent as animals grown on a farm.
In addition to the types mentioned above, there are some smaller groups who follow a similar diet such as:
1) Pollo Vegetarians who eat poultry.
2) Flexitarians who refrain from meat only if the specific beast was raised or slaughtered cruelly.
3) Freeganists who eat all kinds of meat unless the environment was damaged or humans or animals were exploited while the meat was being prepared.
Since visiting a slaughter house, Patty Stevens turned vegetarian six years back. Other than examining online casinos and sometimes playing backgammon Patty helps increase the awareness and advantages of a vegetarian diet.

Every action you take, no matter how big or how small, defines everything that you achieve in life. And, with every action there is a motive - something that puts a person in motion.
But, what is the real definition of MOTIVATION?
Is motivation an incentive, such as a monetary reward or a gift? For example, when you were younger your father or mother might have told you that, “For every “A” you get in school next semester, I’ll give you a specified amount of money”. I’ll bet that it probably worked. You achieved a few “A’s”, took the cash and then achieved less than stellar grades the following semester when the incentive was not offered again.
Or is motivation a threat? For example, your doctor may have told you recently, “If you don’t lose weight, exercise regularly and eat right, your cholesterol level will continue to be through the roof! So, for a few months, you do what the doctor says. You go back for a follow up. Your health is better. And to celebrate, you head off to the nearest fast-food restaurant for a greasy burger, greasier fries and sugary drink. Again, the effect is temporary.
Motivation is not about external incentives, rewards, inducements or threats. My definition of motivation is “an emotion or desire that operates on the “will to do” and causes it to take action”. To be long lasting, motivation MUST come from inside you. Seneca said, “Most powerful is he that has himself in his own power”. The “will to do” is the greatest power in the world tied to human accomplishment. And no one can predict its limits.
Where does the “will to do” come from? Unlike the products in so many advertisements, television infomercials and “spammy” e-mails, it does not come in a handy pill to instantaneously transform you from a “dud” to a “stud”.
So how does one develop a high level of motivation that serves them day in and day out? In my Success System, The Power Of Concentration — How To Take Control Of Your Life, I cover a number of success strategies to develop your “will to do”. I’ll briefly cover two of them here.
My Motivation Strategy #1: There Needs To Be A Desire To Change Within You…
Every one of us possesses some level of “will to do”. It is the inner energy which controls all conscious and subconscious acts. Your “will to do” directs your life forces, habits (both good and bad) and your condition in life. Your will has a connection with all avenues of knowledge, activities, and accomplishment. When you develop the power of concentration within you, you will have developed a higher level of self mastery and your “will to do”.
The “will to do” is a force that is strictly practical. We know it is a force through its cause-and-effect nature. It is a power, like electricity, we can direct. To the extent we direct it, we determine our future. Every time you accomplish any definite act, consciously or subconsciously, you use the principle of the will. Through the “will to do” you can do anything. Therefore the way you use your will - both right and wrong — will make a huge difference in the outcome of your life focus.
You probably know of cases where people have shown tremendous strength under some traumatic experience: The frail person who lifts a heavy car to save the person trapped underneath. The fireman, who rushes into a burning building in order to save others, is another example. In both examples, they used their “will to do” to accomplish the task.
The “will to do” can accomplish great results through activities that grow out of great concentration. In developing the power of concentration, we acquire the power of voluntary attention to such an extent that we can direct it where we want to and hold it steadily to its task, until we accomplish our goals. When you learn to use your will power it becomes a mighty force. Almost everything can be accomplished through its proper use. It is greater than physical force because it can be used to control not only your physical actions, but also your mental health and mind power.
Here’s My Motivation Strategy #2: Develop “Clearly-Defined Goals”…
Many human-performance experts, including yours truly, believe the #1 reason why most people will never get what they want is they - roll of the drum, please! - really don’t know what they want. A few years ago, a study by the Ford Foundation revealed that 90% of people have no idea or plans for getting what they want in life! Imagine how motivated you will be if you start every day with clearly-defined goals and the emotion and desire for achievement in all areas of your life.
For example, what if you took time to visualize your exciting and very specific career and financial objectives? Then, you created objectives for the personal and professional relationships in your life. And, when you were done, you took the time to write down these thoughts in a written action plan with on-going self improvement and self-development milestones. Can you see how this would give you more excitement and motivation everyday? Don’t you agree that clarity about your direction in life is a powerful motivator?
Einstein said, “An object in motion tends to stay in motion”. I challenge you to become an “object in perpetual motion” by beginning to use these two strategies. For additional motivation strategies and effective exercises to develop your “will to do”, please visit our website and see our Success Systems.

If you’re like many people, you may feel that life seems empty or meaningless. You may be feeling frustrated or overwhelmed with day to day life. You feel like you’re at odds with the world, struggling against the current of life. However, this is not the problem. What is missing is not know what you want out of life, not know what your passion or purpose is. Those who know what their passion or purpose in life is, don’t feel this empty feeling. You can often recognize them as happy-go, energized, walking around with a spring in their step.
Is your life flowing? Do you feel life you swimming against the current of life? If you answered yes, chances are, it’s because you’re not in alignment with your passions. What you need is to find your passion and purpose in life.
Maybe you’re wondering if you’re in alignment with your passion and purpose. When you’re in alignment with your passion in life, the whole world tends to flow. Doors open mysteriously. People seem to appear in your path who can help you get you what you want. You often seem to be fortuitous, being in the right place at the right time. Life just seems to flows. This is the core beliefs of the recent movie The Secret, the Laws of Attraction and going further back, the venerable Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich. Despite their esoteric approach, all subscribe that the core of their success principles reside in identifying or finding your passion and purpose in life.
The more you are in aligned with your life purpose the less that life seems to be a struggle in other areas as well. The great thing is that once you’ve identified your purpose and passion in life, you can then use the same process to help you with determining the right career for you. Financial troubles seem to disappear as you clarify your purpose — or does money seem to appear from nowhere? Where you once felt alone in your plight, now love finds you. New friends are made because now you are glowing with purpose and direction. You’ll feel reconnected with your life partner and family as you reaffirm your connection and purpose with your relationships.
The great thing is that is easy to find your passion or purpose in life. In less than 10 minutes, you could identify what you are meant to do or be. You could easily reconnect yourself with your life purpose and passions in life. There are simple, easy-to-use steps to help you uncover where your passions lay and what your purpose in life is. Even if you just want to confirm your passions, this same process can help keep you on track and engaged in your life purpose and spill over to other areas of your life.
Even if you think you know what your passions are, once you take this test, you may just be surprised to see that you’ve been off track! Results from this test let you know whether or not you’re in line with your passions and life purpose. Lots of people are spending all their time on things not even remotely related to their passions. No wonder they’re struggling and things aren’t flowing smoothly.
With one simple step today, you can get on the road –or get back on - to what you want and what you are meant to do. Reconnect with your desires, and realign yourself with your passions and purpose in life — it’s your life which awaits you.

Do you seek enrichment and personal fulfillment? Do you want to make the world a better place for yourself and others? You can enrich your life and make the world a better place by doing several things that will make a difference.
Be an active learner. It is important for you to do more than just observe everything around you. You have to actively participate. Ask a lot of questions. Take notes mentally or physically. It is very important that you physically put into practice what you learn because you learn how to do things by doing them rather than relying on watching and listening. Another great way to become a stellar pupil in life is to learn from all your mistakes. There is an axiom that says, “To err is human. To not repeat is divine.”
Be your best. You always need to put your maximum effort into everything you do. Always go the extra mile. Never be satisfied unless you know that there is nothing more you can do.
Donate your money. You should give a tiny percentage of your money to worthy causes. Last month I bought a ticket for two dollars to support the annual fundraiser held by the Net Rushers Association at Forestwood Park in St. Louis, Missouri. The Net Rushers Association is an organization that holds a tennis camp for kids. I play tennis at Forestwood Park every Sunday during the warmer months of the year. If I was not struggling financially, I would frequently donate some money to places such as food pantries.
Donate your time. You should give at least a little bit of your time to help others or be a volunteer. Being a volunteer will make you feel better about yourself and it is good for your health.
Mentor someone. Take someone under your wings and help him or her reach his or her full potential. Provide a lot of support and guidance. Teach your mentee how to excel at whatever it is that he or she wants or needs to accomplish. I am helping a young high school student learn how to play tennis. I will also teach anyone else who does not know how to play tennis but is serious about learning. It is the right thing to do; furthermore, it hits home in my heart a great deal. About 15 years ago when I started going to Independence Park in St. Louis, Missouri to play tennis, I was not good at tennis and very few tennis players there would hit with me. I was very fortunate that Leroy Smith took the time to teach me how to play tennis. I vowed that I would never display the lack of heart that was shown to me by the majority of tennis players to anyone else who wants to learn how to play tennis.
Treat everyone with respect. I learned something special from a Sunday school teacher in St. Louis, Missouri when I was a teenager. He said, “The thing that you owe everyone is respect.”
Vote. If you are at least eighteen years old, you should register to become a voter and vote on a regular basis. It is very important to make your voice heard and you never know when your vote might make a difference. Those who do not vote have no right to complain about politicians or issues that politicians have control over.
Stay informed. It is very important to read the newspaper everyday to know what is going on around you and to learn about issues and events that affect you. Keep up with what your government officials are doing so that you will be an informed voter. Uninformed voters are a threat to the integrity of the election process and should stay home.
Be smart with your money. You should save some money from each paycheck and concentrate almost all of the spending you choose to do on what you truly need.
Get to work doing things that will bring you fulfillment and make a difference!

I sincerely believed Maya Angelou saved my life.
When I was in college, I had a class one semester that was way out on the other side of campus and it was also by far the earliest class that I ever had. Typically my classes started at 10am, but this one started at eight - a whole two hours earlier than usual. It was compounded by the fact that I had to walk down a very long hallway called “the infinite corridor.” Needless to say, it was a long walk.
Although I arrived to campus before 8am every morning to get to class on time, my mind really didn’t wake up until about 11 or so. I’d walk down the hallways like a zombie, and so did the few other students who were unfortunate like me with an early class and were robbed of sleep. This was also about the time that the school administrators and staff showed up, so this early morning hallway crowd was different from the usual student crowd that filled the hallways later in the day. Funny thing was, I saw the same zombie expressions in them. I was doing my zombie routine for a semester, but these people were doing it for who knows how long.
Have you ever drove down the same road or walked down the same street over and over again, and there may be a billboard that changed but it took you days or weeks before you realized it? That was the same kind of experience I had when I saw this one quote posted on a door at the end of the infinite corridor:
Lift up your eyes upon
The day breaking for you.
Give birth again
To the dream.
I’ve actually always read it every day in passing, but it didn’t really register until the semester was almost over. I’m just glad that my mind ever registered the quote at all. Every day I did my routine of showing up to class at 8am but not really waking up until about 11 or so, letting those three hours of my day be spent inefficiently. I was on autopilot during the mornings, and that habit was starting to be a pattern with other parts of the day with me. When as a student I was walking down the hallway with the career people, I saw the path that I was heading. To be fair, I’m sure that not all the career people were asleep in life, but I felt like a lot were, and I was going to be one of them. I had dreams, aspirations, goals that I wanted to accomplish someday in life. Every day was currency that I could spend or invest for my dreams. Or, I could choose to let it go to waste.
That poem woke me up. I now meditate when I wake up every day, which for me is like rebooting my system and starting anew, clear of the tangles of yesterday and refreshed with the optimism of knowing that if I choose, I can be one day closer to making my dreams come true.

Hi! I come to you today wanting to talk about personal development. And introduce you to a beautiful, talented, loving, caring women I have come to know and love today. ME!
I strongly believe in the principle “Model someone who’s already reached a goal I want to achieve”.
Living by this principle I’m privileged to have grown in my personal development in life. I can remember my dad; William A. Grieves, as I was growing up telling me I can always be what I want to be, and achieve what I wished to achieve. As most of us do in life it took me awhile to live life on life’s terms to realize what he meant by that statement.
If I may I’d like to share a fundamental truth I believe. Marketing “theories” and “concepts” aren’t enough. Especially in Personal Development.
I’ve had to analyze, understand, and model real people that are already personally thriving. I had to become privy to their most powerful assets, techniques, and secrets.
I have learned in my short 51 years of life and experiences that it’s important for me to have a balance of business sense, common sense, and coming from the heart when I interact with others.
For so long I looked to align personal values, passion and purpose with a bigger vision of life, my goals, and choices. I lacked confidence in the direction of where my life was taking me. In other words I wondered, “What Is My Path?”
Through coaching, and personal development, and following the principle belief of modeling someone who’s already reached a goal I want to achieve I have learned what makes me unique. I have stepped outside what I thought was my comfort zone. That dungeon that incased me in what I thought was a unpenetrateable wall of fear. I walk through the where, when, what, who, and how I can use my gifts and talents to serve others.
I was an editor of the North East Washington Area Narcotics Anonymous Newsletter for one and a half years, I have 17 years of sobriety and clean time. I have the freedom of bondage from drug addiction and alcoholism today. I have walked through grief issues from the loss of family friends, relationships, and job losses to name a few. I am a poet, artist, an excellent listener, and a home business owner that provides support for other home business owners.
My purpose in life naturally unfolds as I continually link my strengths, passions, values, and life story.
It’s no wonder I have the experiences I do. Its as though I was being sculpted by the Great Potter’s hand to live out the purpose I came to fulfill.
It took planning, assessing risk and reality, developing relationships, and following through. This was a process that took focus over time. Following this process you can even build a bridge and consciously create your life’s work and purpose.

Anthony Robbins is world famous for being a master motivator and a top performance coach. He has worked with individuals, professional athletes, and companies both large and small.
Through his seminars, audio and video learning series and books, Tony has shared his own personal story of success with the world. He gained acclaim for getting results with quick turnarounds. Tony’s ability to help people quickly turn around any area of their lives is quite remarkable.
If you didn’t know who he was before, you may have seen him in the 2001 comedy movie, Shallow Hal, starring Jack Black. Tony plays himself, as he hypnotizes Jack Black’s character into seeing a different view of the world.
Robbins became famous for his infomercials with ex-football star Fran Tarkenton, offering his Personal Power home audio course. This course may best be described as a complete approach to personal change.
With Personal Power, Tony’s program brings together a number of different systems and techniques that people can use to change anything they want about their lives. It is packaged up in an audio course, which he personally recorded. This definitely gives it a personal touch and a flavor all its own.
As you go through the course, you get to hear not only Tony’s techniques, but also his personal story as told by him. I found this course to be extremely effective. He’s sometimes funny, sometimes excited, sometimes self-deprecating, but always demanding. This makes for an entertaining but results oriented program.
Personal development gurus had been around for some time, but many of the programs were rather stiff, and impersonal. Tony moved motivation up to a more personal level. and emphasized speed and results over the traditional therapy methods. In addition, he made his sysem available to the masses.
What was at one time accessible only to high powered executives and corporations, Tony brought to you and me. By creating a system that could work for all, yet was individualized, he introduced us to the concept of a personal life coach, before we even knew what it was.
Before the Anthony Robbins home course, Personal Power, and its later version Personal Power 2, we read about Tony’s techniques in his books. In Unlimited Power, for example, Tony describes neuro linguistic programming, or NLP, the system upon which many of his techniques are based.
NLP is used to create dramatic life change. It’s a results focused, highly flexible, and highly individual system for personal growth.
Tony’s NLP based techniques can empower us to take control of our lives and shape our futures. Instead of relying on traditional therapy and advice, Tony explains that if you master the concept of how your brain works, you actually go beyond therapy. By becoming your own therapist and personal consultant, you become able to change any feeling or behavior in just moments.
I recommend you consider Tony’s methods and see if they work for you. I think you’ll find, as I did, that the convenience of a home audio series is a valuable tool for quick and lasting change.
Anthony Robbins has many loyal followers, as well as many detractors. His methods are powerful, to be sure, but in my opinion his most powerful methods work best if you’re good at visualizing. If not, then you may have to work a bit harder in order to see progress. If you’re ready for change, and willing to work for it, Anthony Robbins and his personal power techniques are for you.
Author Kurt Schmitt uses techniques for inspiration taught by Anthony Robbins and others to create lasting personal change. To keep up with what he’s up to, subscribe to his online newsletter, Ideas into Action.

“Many people who order their lives rightly in all other ways are kept in poverty by their lack of gratitude.” Wallace Wattles
Several times a day, I jot down what I am grateful for. This has allowed me to discover how very blessed I am; it has allowed me to be in a greater state of joy, and receive even more.
“The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best, therefore it will receive the best.” Wallace Wattles
The principle of gratitude starts out with a very important question: How do you see the world? Is the world a friendly place with more than enough to go around or is there a limited supply of good in this world?
When we see the world as friendly, and there being enough to go around, we come from a place of cooperation and creation. Whereas, when we see the world as unfriendly we come from a place of competition. Thinking in terms of scarcity leads to feelings of fear and worry.
Starting with a mindset of abundance is the first step in the law of Gratitude.
“Because all things have contributed to your advancement you should include all things in your gratitude.” Wallace Wattles
This principle is a little harder to accept at first glance. How can I be grateful when I have lost a loved one? How can I be grateful when I have recently been laid off?
Our hardest experiences tend to have been our best teachers. The loss of our infant daughter taught me that for every door that closes another one opens. A large financial loss taught me about ego, and being addicted to having others think well of me. When we learn the lesson we do not need the hard experience again.
“Because all people have contributed to your advancement you should include all people in your gratitude.” Wallace Wattles
The guy or gal who has wronged you also deserves to be thanked and forgiven. People show up in our life to teach us things about ourselves. When we can finally wish someone who has wronged us well, we cut the ties of resentment we were holding onto, and we are free to move on.
People who are grateful are givers. They give time, support, money, and so on. Giving does not need to be in a monetary currency; however we need to give what we most need to receive. Giving gets you in the flow of life. Like a river flowing - when you give you are subconsciously stating that you are confident that there is more than enough. Giving needs to come from a place of feeling good and not from a place of sacrifice. Sacrifice stems from a lack mentality and leads to resentment.
Next, it is important to recognize, and to be grateful for, the various forms of abundance:
For example when going to the store and buying an item valued at $125.00 for 50% off, that is the universe bringing you abundance in the form of a 62.50 saving.Getting a service free of charge because you referred 5 friends is abundance. Receiving a coupon in the mail for 10% off an item you were intending to purchase is a form of abundance. Buy 2 get one Free is evidence of abundance. These are but a few examples of continuous abundance and reasons to be grateful.
Now you are ready to put gratitude to work for you, in your life. Start each day by taking a few minutes to be grateful.

If you happen to be among the unfortunate few who suffers from low self-esteem or know someone who does, you might be interested to try out these 2 self esteem building activities that can help to gain back your self confidence and positive attitude.
Self Esteem Building Activity #1
Let us kick off this self esteem building activity with your self. Look into the mirror and point the unique features that you possess. Look at your eyes, your nose, your lips, your body frame and every part of your body. Do you like what you see? Do you love what you have?
How many times have we seen people suffering from depression and low self esteem throwing objects at the mirrors because they hate their own reflection? Many times I am sure.
Thus, the first self esteem building activity that you should indulge in is improving how you look and start to love every unique trait that you own. In this phase you have to make sure that you like what you see in the mirror and looking physically good is an important factor at this point of time.
Take a trip to the beauty parlor or the gym if you must. Get a new hairdo or a manicure. Go for an eyebrow trimming session. Buy the latest outfit in the fashion scene. Whatever it is, start beautifying yourselves. It is mandatory that you like and love your own reflection in the mirror because such fondness is an amazing start to make yourself feel better.
Once that is settled, look into the mirror every morning and say to yourself “I love myself” not because you are narcissistic but because you simply love the uniqueness that you can offer to the world.
Self Esteem Building Activity #2
Go out and hang out with close friends every week. Set a definite date to surround yourself with friends who are supportive and celebrate the ‘high points’ of the week. Think of the session as a time where you give one another words of encouragement and heaps of praises.
Why every week? It is pleasant to always have something to look forward to every week. This self esteem building activity will enable you to share a unique bond with your friends and together you will all grow up delightfully. Be careful not to over praise each other so make sure that you only give sincere and timely praises to each other.
Those are just two self-esteem building activities that you can practice to build your self esteem or to finally build a high self esteem. There are other ways but one individual practice and another group exercise should encourage you to get at least get started and then just keep on doing it until it becomes habit. You never know, when you are so good at it then you can begin to walk the talk and inspire others to do the same.

Self-esteem is defined by how an individual sees himself or herself. Someone who believes strongly in his or her own capabilities tend to succeed in almost any endeavor that he or she indulges in. Similarly, someone who lacks the self esteem and self-confidence tend to drift away in oblivion and will experience a lot of obstacles in life.
It takes some time to build a proper self-esteem lesson plan for individuals to enhance their self esteem. Usually doctors or psychologists will have to provide a test before outlining a self-esteem lesson. Patients will the give their response by selecting a multiple choice answer, ranking each question from highest or lowest or filling in open ended questions.
These are the seven categories that experts will use to come up with a self-esteem lesson plan that can help the individual overcome his or her confidence issues.
The first category is procrastination. We are all aware that different people have different habits of accomplishing work. There is the go-getter and the one who will start something but not able to finish what he started. Usually the results of this category will help the specialist to determine the level of enthusiasm of a patient.
The second category to outline the self-esteem lesson is about judging the patient’s level of risk-taking. The patient will be assessed according to his or her tendency to try for something new or simply go with the majority.
It is common for people to commit mistakes. However, there are certain individuals who will be frozen in guilt for a long time without the ability to move forward. This is the part where a specialist will draw up his self-esteem lesson based on the patient’s willingness to let go and face for life’s challenges.
Another category that the specialist will focus on while creating the self-esteem lesson plan is to learn more about the patient’s past. Often individuals who suffer from low self-esteem experience a trauma which is still haunting them now. By knowing the type of trauma that one has suffered before, the specialist will be able to come up with a self-esteem lesson plan that can get rid of the painful experiences.
The psychologist will also try to determine what makes the patient angry or frustrated. Once the reason for anger can be established, a well conceived self-esteem lesson can be customized to manage the anger issues of an individual.
The psychologist will also need to determine if the patient is outgoing or otherwise. This category of questioning will enable the specialist to see if the patient needs a self-esteem lesson to develop lasting relationships with friends or the opposite sex.
The last portion simply asks the question if the person is happy with everything that life has offered. Some people will say satisfactorily given that the individual may not have that dream car or job.
